Exactly my thoughts. I was expecting to see a truck actually dying at 177k miles, which i was very curious to see.

Toyotas never die, they just rust away.

I was honestly hoping to see a rod through the block or something. We all feel let down.

I thought I heard it was the machine that applies rtv to the cover, not putting enough. I don't see how Their explanation would apply. The plenum is plastic and it seals.

just repeating what my dealer said. They’ve apparently done quite a few of them on the 3.5’s in all the vehicles they come in.

honeslty it cant be harder than doing a timing belt replacement in the older 4.7’s...it’s just taking shit apart in the front of the engine.

A looooot of work. That guy looks like he knows what he's doing, what the next step Is, has all the tools, etc. Imagine going into it blind, like having to solve each little "issue" right as it comes up. Would take an eternity!

Add a catch can and 2" lift and u won't need to add this anymore. Trick meema taught me when I was a wee one.

But this does the carb and does a tune up at the same time. Clean carbs and a proper tune are key to stop these new Toyota’s from dying at 177k.
