My 2017 Tacoma got rear-ended by a Prius a couple weeks ago. The for was all at the hitch receiver and it caused the frame rails to bend down a bit. No body damage. The body shop was able to "cold bend" the frame back but there is still a slight crease in the frame. Its straight but doesn't meet factory spec. The insurance company called it a total loss and I was afraid I was going to loose my truck but I went through my insurance and they are going to replace the entire frame and hitch. So I am glad about that but hate to see what I feel it a perfectly good frame with 24K miles on it go to scrap. Does anyone know if a 2017 frame would fit early models that had rust damage. I guess I am thinking if there is a market for it I would try to keep it and sell it to someone who needs a frame or afa section. 20200528_112845.jpg 20200528_112854.jpg

It could work for a 2005-2015 model, but the buyer would have to take the risk of possibly moving some brackets or transfering hardware.

    Theres 15 different frames for 2010-2015 pre-runner/4x4 so there's definitely not one-size-fits-all.

Buyer would have to beware, and be good at welding.

I would buy your frame if I had a rotten 05-07 that was out of the campaign.

Why been concerned about this "perfectly good frame" going to scrap? It no longer meets Toyota's specs and has been deemed junk by the insurance company.

I just thought maybe someone with and older truck could make use of it.
