2017 Tacoma needs new engine block!?

I did read the lemon law here and it has to be a serious issue which engine replacement is and there for 30 days before a claim so its been there 12 now so im counting and I have emailed a lemon law attorney just in case...but I would rather solve everything w out that...

 

Ask them if they'd like to sell you one truck or sell you many more trucks in the future. If they're so concerned about their bottom line, repeat business is what will keep the doors open, not one time sales and never see you again. Also there's word of mouth, customers tell their friends and others where to go buy and where to avoid. This dealer seems a bit short sighted as far as business goes.

 

I am new to Toyota but after reading some of this it worries me. The whole reason I chose a Tacoma was how reliable everyone says they are. I sure hope this is not going to become more prevalent in their trucks. I was actually proud to own a new Tacoma.

Continue to elevate this through corporate. Use a simple Google search and get as many email addresses for their execs as possible and cc them on this. You will get nowhere with the dealer and corporate is your best chance. I hear a lot of lemon law chatter on here but read up on your state's lemon law before you even consider this. My approach to this issues varies from other attorneys but if you can get corporate to make this right, even if you have to pester the crap out of them, you will be better off in the end. Remember that they record every word you say.

Lemon laws are not always what they are cracked up to be because often there is a mileage deduction and no provision (in some states) for tax reimbursement. An even trade assist is always what I shoot for if it is my personal vehicle and I have done this three or four times with no money out of pocket. I just did it on my 2015 Yukon XL and got a 2016 with more on it with no out of pocket. Every automotive manufacturer has a department just for buybacks and trade assists.

This early on, I feel bad for you and hope you can get a fair resolution. If not, lawyer up and see if someone with experience in this area will take your case on a contingency. Steve Lehto has a lot of great videos on this subject. I differ with him on his disregard for dealing with corporate but understand because he wants you to lawyer up (it's how we make a living). I dont cuss people out or get irate that goes nowhere but I will keep going up the chain of command....im sure that is why the dealer quit responding because I told them hey I will continue to ask for a new truck from corp. and they had no response nor will they provide trade numbers at this point because I asked what a v6 would run w trade etc....oh well some say they are doing their part to fix the truck but I just dont feel that way right now....

 

They are doing the bare minimum that is for sure if they wouldnt fix a thing if they didn't have to....they are getting paid for repairs from toyota so all they care about is getting paid...

 

I'll bring some beer.

 

If you are going to pursue the route to try and get another truck out of this deal, I would advise you to quit posting negative comments about the dealer and/or Toyota.
May be best if you stayed quiet until the situation is resolved. You never know who is reading these threads.

After they keep saying no,no,no... just look them straight in the eye and say this clearly and with full confidence "Patrick1046". I can pretty much guarantee you'll be treated like royalty from that moment forward.

Stick to the truth and you have nothing to worry about. The dealer really has no dog in this fight other than doing what Toyota authorizes and you need them to go to bat for you with Toyota. They have a heck of a lot more clout with Toyota than we do. It's not the dealer's fault you got a truck with a bad engine. Get them on your side and try to get Toyota to give a fair resolution. To me Toyota corporate is more difficult to deal with (if you are seeking a trade assist) than most manufacturers but I think they will do what is right in the end. If they drop a new engine in they will most likely extend the warranty to ease your anxiety over it. If you want to get a new truck you have a much longer path ahead of you and the dealer needs to be on your side to get this done.

The dealer has been on the dark side of the moon from the word go and thats what gets me because they have clearly said from the word go their concern is over not loosing profit and concern over their bottom line so they are deff. Not on my side...nor have they been....I shall take to the twitter and have considered making a vlog where is my taco? They said to me well we cant give you what a new truck is worth because it is now worth less....hmmmm thanks for that dealer bob
