How about no. If they are removing and replacing with an exact copy, it would be a. Patch. Your analogy is saying they will put a 2.7 instead of a 3.5. In not here to argue semantics, but I'll bet every last dollar he won't get a new truck. Mark my words. He can cry his heart out on the managers lap. Ain't happening.

Truth hurts - he's not gonna get a new truck. But I guarantee that if it were to happen to you, me or anyone else, we'd be fighting for that brand new truck

I was in his boat with my 16, 2 going on 3 new rear diffs, low transmission fluid, etc. I followed the route, warranty claim, contacted Toyota received complimentary platinum warranty, finally after a polite conversation between service advisor, case manager and GM moved into my 17 my truck met lemon law requirements at that point. So I understand the frustration.

That made no sense. I award you zero points. I made no mention of numbers so not sure what you're spouting off about engine size for.
Also, what's the amount of this every last dollar? Giving any odds since it's such a sure thing in your mind. Might get some takers if you make it worth while.

I do not think it has anything to do with people, the Texas plant is automated whereas the Mexican plant is not.

Ok and what you are saying is they altered a shirt to fix it... they aren't altering his truck. Engine out, engine in...

Legit question...wonder if it would/will effect his trade in or resale value.

Doubtful any harm, depends on how its recorded in the service record, it will likely show as dealer performed maintenance under warranty but likely nothing specific to scare anyone off or to know any better like an accident, etc.

Not one bit... if you have a anal customer who wants service records and scours them.... sure. but in reality, they would just look for a different vehicle, not negotiate lower. How many cars get traded in with "problems".

So my conerns are with the possible resale value....as someone else said having faith in the car again after repairs....are all concerns along w the repairs being done correctly the first time with no more issues also I paid more for a Tacoma than say a Nissan Frontier or Chevy Colorado because they are supposdly built better last longer and have better customer service we will see how the dealer and Toyota do with this serious problem and the Rav4 we have has 40k miles w no issues never had to do more than an oil change....every now and then a bad one comes off the line id just like a good one...you dont have to agree with me but that is how I feel

This matter is not even close to qualifying for the Lemon Law. The length of time for this single repair to the vehicle is not a factor in 'Lemoning' a vehicle.

Front panel of cloth off, new front panel of cloth back on. I'm not a seamstress or master machanic, but I'd bet every last dollar that replacing a piece of cloth with the exact same make of cloth is easier and will have less issues down the road than replacing an engine block. Whether the item is held in by bolts or thread, replacing is replacing.
