    Hi all,

So I am looking for a leveling kit for my new Taco. I heard 3/1 kit is the the ideal one. I talked to the guys where I bought it from (Modern Toyota) and they have there own accessory shop (Modern Extras). They told me they recommend a 3/2 leveling kit from ReadyLift. They told me they install them on there new Tacoma's all the time and they say it seems to work best.

I hear a lot of junk talk about leveling kits, but i am just trying to raise it up 3 inches so I can just have that lift look and later put some 285/70/r17's. I occasionally do some off roading but nothing drastic.

I am also just trying to stay as close to factory as possible, all i want is just a raise. Toyota dealership tells me a leveling kit is the best option since its not such a big mod.

I see other companies sell them as well, procomp and daystar.

    Any advice or suggestions?

Please don't put that Hockey Puck spacer junk on a beautiful $30,000.00 plus truck. 5100's at a minimum. Talk to Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road and do it right the 1st time, buy once cry once.

What’s up with the headstrong off-road boner? I’m new here. Never heard of them until I got on this page and I’ve always been heavily involved in the off-road community

I think they have a great reputation for knowledge on 3rd gens, pricing and customer service. That's what I gather anyway.

I say if the dealer installs and warranties then go for it as it would be fine for your needs. Every dealer I have been to always has 2 or 3 brand new tacomas that have been lifted using spacer lifts.

I understand your point however, if you want a lift or leveling kit then Bilsteins would be the way to go. They aren't very expensive and you'll keep your ride quality if you go the bilstein 5100 route. I've heard using blocks or spacers will hurt your ride quality. And people are always looking for the Bilsteins that are on your OffRoad Taco (me included) and the quicker you take them off and install 5100's, the less miles you'll have on them the more money you can get for them. You could prolly get around $200 to $250 on very low mile OffRoad Bilsteins.

I just install the LRT 3/1 leveling kit on my Tacoma and I was very pleased with the results. Also put 285/70/R17 on it with no rubbing. Check out my youtube video for before and after photos.

You havent done your research if youre asking a question thats been answered thousands of times. My thoughts is a bilstien 5100 is 150 more than a spacer lift. Why would you ruin or risk ruining a 30k truck for something proven to fail. The 5100 will be a great upgrade to your stock struts anyways

What’s proven to fail? 5100s with the preload is no better than a spaced lift.

Just had my 2017 taco lifted about a 3 weeks ago, long bed btw. 3/2 ReadyLift from my Toyota's dealership recommendation. Post ride quality = factory. A little tighter on bumps, but not enough to complain. Would you also have that feeling on icons or kings? [emoji of me just thinking about that] If so, $3k on a lift is not worth it in my eyes. The bilsteins 5100 and the factory off road model shocks aren't even that far off. You might as well go big like Icon or Kings, or just get a reputable leveling kit, I see them on the road all the time on a variety of different trucks. I wonder if having a leveling kit and some bad ass upper control arms will improve anything? I think it'll just look cool from my opinion.

SCS bronze ray10 16's and 285/75/16 tire (32.8") coming soon...
