Hello all! I’ve had my taco for 5 years now and haven’t done anything until now! This morning I’ve got the ome 2” lift kit and will be getting abit more aggressive tires but keep the stock rims. My question is should I replace the upper control arms?I carry a lot of weight which are my tools, camper cover and bed slide.I’ve been pushing my stock leaf springs to their limit.
Any help will be highly appreciated!!!

    Oh look, another mod....
If you're going to lift it and carry a lot of weight in the bed, then yeah...you should get new/upgraded UCA's, leaf pack and upgrade your shocks.

So after many sleepless night searching and looking through this site my build is as follows
Ome 2 “ lift kit with medium duty leaf springs with yellow sumo spring
    Arb upper control arms
    Blackhorn bh01 17 x 8.5
And falcons wild peak 285 75 r17 and done a body mount chop

took the truck off road and it rides like a dream and also does great at work

Won’t be long until you’re buying the pieces to turn that into the heavy leaf spring kit. You’ll wonder if you’re ready, but if you’re wondering, you are ready. They don’t ride as harsh as you might expect but do so much better with the canopy+

Are the wheels definitely 17x8.5? I only see 17x9 on their website.

    I dig the wheels!

I couldn't be happier with my OME-005 kit (2in Heavy w/ Nitro chargers) and SPC UCAs. Congrats on the lift! I am happy that I towed stock with a couple of helpers because it gave me a basis of comparison. I cannot imagine driving my Taco (as well as towing) on stock shocks and springs now that I have the heavy OME kit.

Maybe in a couple of years I'll consider upgrading the nitro chargers to some BP51s or King 3.0s. Kings on the OME 2886s springs and Dakar leafs would be wild.

With the topper, bed slide and tools I would go with the heavy duty springs. I went with the medium springs and ended up adding the extra leaf from OME to give them a little more load capacity. I had a topper and roof top tent. After I added a Decked Drawer system and Rigd tire carrier with a full size 35" spare the OME leafs weren't able to keep up and sagged badly. I ended up going with Deavers.

Guys install aftermarket UCAs to get proper alignment if going 2”+ lift or for extended travel suspension. From my understanding anyway.

Yeah From the start I knew I would have to get the heavy duty one, but I found a deal that on adds here for sell that just made sense to me. But I’m really considering the add a leaf soon

I'm looking to get those same size tires, hows the clearance? Did you have to cut any inner fender or do a cmc?

i had to cut the inner fender and bmc and I still have some rubbing, I think I need to get another alignment for the control arms and move them forward to stop the rub
