2017 Tacoma Paint Issues

Mine is from Mexico, white, gray primer...no paint issues

 

Yikes!!! This issues has reached 2020 models now?!?!

 

The white paint is absolutely garbage. Luckily I don’t have the flaking issues but damn I feel like it chips even if a bug hits it

 

2017 white paint is stronger than the windshield.

 

So has anyone DIYed their own paint repair on their truck? What type of paint and primer did you use and how were the results? I’m not taking it to a paint shop to pay $$$$ for this, it’s a truck.

 

A good painter can easily fix it.

 

Well then those ones certainly shouldn't have paint issues.

 

apparently toyota got the same white paint manufacturer as Hyundai. my buddy has a white 2015 sonata and the paint is just peeling like in your picture. nothing they can do about it since is out of the paint warranty. just sand an have it paint

 

Got my Toyota letter in the mail today. Apparently they putting a Customer Support Program together to fix the paint issues on 16-22 models. Guess ill see how long it takes to get the next letter saying they are ready to fix it.
