2017 Tacoma sport wheel with tpms on a 2005 Tacoma prerunner

I have a 2005 prerunner access cab and was inquiring on buying 2017 17” wheels I know that they tpms can install regular non tpms valve stems on them ?

 

Yup, they work both ways, regular tire stem in any Toyota wheel.

 

Thanks I thought I saw it was not legal for shops to put regular valve stems on ?

 

That's false, you're good to go, the light may cause a fail on some state inspections, but they are designed to handle both TPMS and non-tpms.

A lot of Canadian models up here don't have TPMS and share the same rim. Specially our Rav4's and manual tacomas.

 

if the shop k n o w s the rim or vehicle should have TPMS by law

most wont remove them

ez to remove & replace b4 U take em in

that way U avoid the scrimmage
