2017 tacoma sputtering but not constantly

So about 6 months ago I had to replace 2 coil packs well today my truck started misfiring again well if you cut it off and crank it back up it will %75 of the time run fine till it does it again so It turned out to be cyl 1 misfire which I had replaced that coil already so it was still under warranty put brand new coil in and it’s still doing the same thing, I tried swapping that coil with a different one to see if the misfire followed the coil re-read the codes and the only change was it picked up (random misfire) code with could still corespond with cyl 1 not sure what’s going on If anyone knows please help me out!!

 

Did you have the fuel pump recall done?

I was unaware of the fuel pump recall I will definitely look into that

 

IIRC there have also been some issues with burnt valves on #1

A compression/leakdown test may be useful.
