I just picked up a 2017 tacoma and they put 4 new tires on it. The tmps is not registering any pressures. I tried to do a reset but the light never blinks saying that the reset is taking place. I have read there is a code that needs to be entered at the dealer. Is this correct?

They probably broke them, take it back, that will at least diagnose for free I hope.

I have seen places install one or more aftermarket sensors where the light will be off but it won’t show pressures on the info screen. It’s possible there is one or more aftermarket sensors installed

Yes it flashes turns solid and when I hold reset button it stays solid. I held button down for 20 seconds.

100% one or more broken or faulty TPMS sensor. Was it fine before the tires were installed?

Oh ok, well it is a sensor problem for sure, not sure where you bought it and if they would help with the repair but my opinion would be take it to the dealer so they could diagnose which/how many sensors are not reading. Does it have factory wheels and are the valve stems metal (sensor) or rubber?

If they’re aftermarket sensors they have to be learned with a laptop at a Toyota dealership. I worked for Toyota for years.
Just FYI the spare tire usually uses a tpms as well so always keep that bad boy aired up cause most people don’t know that and they air the other 4 up and the tire light never goes away lol

Yes, even one bad sensor shuts down all the tire pressure info on the multi display screen in between the speedometer and tachometer

To many sensors on vehicles these days. If I didn't just buy it and it was on I would say screw it.

My old Ford sport trac didn't even have a gas gauge that worked. I would put fuel in when low indicator came on. The miles per hour on dash would get stuck until I hit the dash like Fonzie, so needless to say this is just a minor issue.

Dealer told me stop in on Monday. I see three metal sensors and one without.
