    trans shops will do a deep dive into the transmission; that's what they do. they can do the work a lot quicker than a shop that doesn't know what they are doing. the dealership isn't going to open up the transmission but a transmission shop will because they have experience.

    They can also hook up a scanner and take a look at adaptation values and the likes to see if anything looks out of spec or abnormal. Which is a bit faster and actually tells a lot more than just dropping the pan. My trans shop was able to do this when my trans clutch packs were failing in my Jeep.

    When you changed the transmission fluid, are you sure it is at the correct level at the recommended temperature range? Also, has your 2017 had the transmission flash TSB done? When my truck was new it came 1 quart low of transmission fluid and I had the transmission TSB done. Not sure which or both fixed the reviving issue.
