    Hello,

I hope this is the right place to post this?

I just purchased a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road - double cab - long bed in Quicksand.
I didnot get factory running boards. I am now trying to decide what make and style of running board I would prefer.

I am also currently switching out what little chrome parts are on my Tacoma for black. Trying to do a subdued or simple Tan/Black scheme.

I am looking for something functional but not huge in the way of running boards.

Does anyone have any suggestions or pictures of what you have done?

    Thanks

Edit: Also, I have plans to put the following additions on my build as time goes on.

    - Baja basket over the cab.
    - KB Voodoo Rack - High / Long
    - Pro grill
    - Switching out the chrome bumber caps for black ones (once I find black ones)
    - Have not decided on front bumper/bar yet.

Yikes, a bit too expensive for me. I am thinking something not as wide, simple, and protective to the sides of the body from rocks and such.

    I was considering these........
    - N-Fab (Black) wheel to wheel nerf bar
    - N-Fab (Black textured) wheel to wheel bed access nerf bar

Okay. I am now considering one of these two options.........

#1 - Tyger Auto TG-AM2T20048 Textured Black Star Running Boardsj
    https://www.amazon.com/Tyger-Auto-T...automotive&vehicleId=2&vehicleType=automotive

    OR

#2 - N-Fab (Black textured) wheel to wheel bed access nerf bar
    https://runningboardwarehouse.com/s...ma/2005-2017/double-cab/vg-nfb-t0690cc-6.html

Any Suggestions on these running boards?

Also, I am considering the Tyger Auto – Textured black with light mounts Bull Bar for the front of my Tacoma. Anyone have experience with this front bumper guard?

Does anyone know where I can find instructions on installing the Tyger Bull Bar? It seems odd that there is not even a youtube video of someone else installing one on a 3rd Gen Tacoma?

I think I am ready to pull the trigger and get the Tyger Bull Bar and Running Boards.

Raccoonrough, did you get the Tyger running boards? I’m thinking about those, too, so interested in your impressions. Thanks!

Why wouldn't you get a set of sliders? I have a set from Mobtown and they look and fit great.

IMG_20150523_144619_401.jpg I have the Nfab (not bed access) on my 15 TRD Pro. They work fine for parking lot protection and will work as mild sliders (dragged them a couple of times on our Arizona trip). They are body mounted so not true sliders. I like that I can get in and out of the truck without dragging my leg on them. Got them mainly because my Lady is short. Would not recommend them for serious wheeling, but they are fine for light stuff. Just make sure you get them from Nfab, and not the China knock offs which are junk. Had mine for 3 years and they are doing fine.

Bob, which model Nfab is that? And how far out from the body do they extend? I’d like step help but not if it means dragging my leg against them every time I exitnthe cab. Thanks.

Rob, I am not likely to do heavy offroading. That said, I’m not opposed to sliders. All the ones I found online were expensive and had crazy long lead times. I am hoping to get something soon. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion. I will look again.

No photo of the rear black bumper end caps? I want to replace the chrome ones on my black Tacoma

The matte black looks awesome with the red. I guess I could try the matte finish bumper caps on my black truck, but I may have to eventually have them PTMed.

I actually took some photos at my local dealership. The shiny black looks best (more $$), but the matte may look fine until...83652E35-16C1-4F3C-8025-05AA7FED4FB9.jpg4F2B46FD-6B10-4EA2-808D-271EEA60A489.jpg811E2FA4-A711-4D48-8F18-392408DC05D9.jpg

Yes... either one definitely looks better than chrome.
    Thanks for the input.

$50 per? They are like $80 to $100 per on eBay.

I think I’m gonna “pull the trigger”
and order the OEM matte black end caps. I think it will blend in well with the body color black, since the center bumper cover, tow bracket, running boards, front bumper trim, TRD Pro grille, and all other plastic trim parts are matte black... as well as any aftermarket heavy duty bumpers. And I’ll be staying with the (slightly) gunmetal gray wheels, since they match the gray “TOYOTA” letters on the Heritage- style grille. 7E940518-6EEB-482D-B3D3-C7F1A33BFDD4.jpg069BA1DB-25C6-4823-8656-257DAC6D0309.jpgC283585C-C35D-4FF6-A4C5-5D8158C54509.jpg6485E7E4-953E-4F1B-86EB-8DA584B69B78.jpg92B7EDE4-4D11-476E-A6BE-9D4F10E2B732.jpg2D5A06F4-0F73-450B-8E11-EBCBF154532B.jpg
