Sweet! I can't wait to see your upgrades. I am considering a Toyota Xsp grill myself. I will remove the Xsp logo though. I have no idea what the TRD Pro grill looks like so I will have to do some research on that. What brand are the mud guard you went with? Mine came with them, I think they may have been part of the OR package but I am not 100% sure. I have been contemplating a dash cam but have done absolutely no research on what is out there for those. I think the rims you have on the truck look good myself, but I understand if your tastes are different. My rims also differ from yours I think because of the OR package. They will be good enough for some time, I may or may not change them. That will depend on me finding something I like more. I will definitely be running them until I need new shoes. Might be able to get a good deal down the road on a tire/rim set somewhere, that is kind of my plan for later.

That is a good point, and a point well taken. I have no affiliation with Toyota. I am just a guy who has made the purchase of a 2017 Toyota TRD that's all. I am just trying to keep a positive attitude about the truck I am picking up this evening. I have read a lot on this forum the short time I have been here. I have had people tell me get out of the deal don't buy. I have had others say they have had no problems and to buy. I don't know if any of these people work for Toyota or not. But I believe Toyota is a good brand. I have owned 3 in the past and never had an issue. Maybe I am lucky, maybe I will be not so luck on this one. Only time will tell. I think bcrobbin is 100% right, he seems like he calls it like he sees it. I tend to do the same thing when I see it and I have a healthy skepticism when it comes to every little thing being said on the internet. Some I completely believe some not so much. I know there are some problems with these for some folks, but not all. Is it right, no. No one should have problems with a brand new vehicle, and if they do the dealerships should step up. Money and profits get in the way of that I think more and often. I am still buying mine, but I will give it a through drive over the next few days and if I lose my confidence I have a 3 day window in which to return the truck and get out of the deal. Because of this forum I have become more educated about the issues of this model and for that I am thankful. It is a shame to see dealerships give people the run around. I think there is a lot of good advise given out on this forum and I will use it as a tool to learn and possibly help others. I was on a different forum when I owned a different truck, there was one valid negative thing that I have explained in a previous post. So I get it, and I very well may follow bcrobbins advise, because well honestly it is good advise.

Just the black grill only as what comes on the TRD Pro. As it should have been from the factory in my opinion. The rest will most likely be debadged but thanks for your approval....

    Hey josefmd,

Sweet truck man! I have always had a soft spot for the TRD Baja editions! I don't know anyone who owns one, how do you like yours?

SO I checked out the TRD Pro grills online, now I know why you are going with one! Those are pretty sweet. Any idea on cost? The Xsp is $250 at the dealership. It is another $100 more from Southeast Toyota, that is because they charge for installation. I don't need it installed, it is easy enough to do that one myself. I can't wait to see what your truck looks like with it installed.

Thanks... It's been great! The only thing that has come up to bite me in the butt, is having the AC and not having the DC. Now the Gen 3's are out the interior is really showing it's age as well. I loved them when I first read the press stuff back in 12, and like some have pointed out, its the original Pro basically. The start of it all with that regard.

Man have we hijacked the OP's post. $453 but being on back order it will be a while. Ripped off the B pillar black vinyl stickers today too. They were horribly misaligned at the bottom and I couldn't have that. :D

I love my Tacoma. It's weird that when I am at work I can't wait to go on break just to go Sit on it and look at it and can't wait to get off as well to ride it.

Hey all, anyone know the price for the stock wheels on the Sport model? Also the price for the stock grille, it's the same grille in the OR model as well?

My Sport is on order. But I'm having them sway out the stock wheels/tires and install the TRD Pro Black wheels/w BFG A/T K02s 265/70R17s. Got a TRD Pro Grille ordered/enroute too. Swapping it out.

So that means I'll be selling the stock wheels & tires, and the stock grille. Just like to know how much Toyota sells them for so I can figure out how much to price them. I asked the parts guy/local Toyota dealer and he said rims are something like $480 + $49 for the center cap. That seems crazy expensive to me. At those prices grille must be $400+ (Grille & bezel only, not w/the color matched shroud)

If you know the prices let me know, really appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Norma

99% of the bashing is from people who dont actually own the truck. Its sad really.

Congrats to you and the op!

Thats a great pic. I have a 2016 TRD Sport DCSB in mgm 4x4. I've put on 8000 miles in the last 3 months and love it. I had the transmission update done but honestly it wasn't a big difference. I don't believe I was having the transmission issue a lot of people are having. I average 22 mpg. Again I love my truck and I can see why Tacoma people are so devoted.
