Howdy! I have a 2017 Tacoma DC SR 2wd with the 4cyl. Love the truck, other than the lack of a power seat. The truck came stock with 16" steel wheels and 245/75/16 tires. At 700 miles, I replaced the tires with 17" factory 4runner rims and 255/65/17 Cooper at3s. I have a vibration at all speeds, worse at 60+, and I have had them balanced twice. I have about 2000 miles on them now. I am afraid the tires are too aggressive and causing my issues, although there have been a ton of issues with balancing the at3s. I will probably replace the tires with a less aggressive tire. Are the 17" Rims adding to my issues? Can I go to a 265/70/17 or go back to stock 16s? I like a smooth ride and I'm afraid the 2wd 4cyl can't handle the rubber, although I love the look. Any advice?

    Get them road force balanced.

The sizes you mentioned should fit fine.

Oh also I would experiment with tire pressures.

I've had them rf balanced twice. After researching, the at3s are defective and will likely always have some balance issues. I have considered the 265 because there are more options.

Where did you buy the tires from? Can be returned under warranty usually.

265/75/16 or 265/70/17 will fit without rub. They will impact your gas mileage a bit. May also reduce off the line acceleration

Thanks for the responses. I will make sure they exchange them. I should've probably stayed with 16" Rims but I really like the 17 4runner rims. Now just have to figure out how much difference I will see between the 255/65/17s and the 265/70/17s. Haven't noticed much difference at this point from the factory 16s in mpg and acceleration, but didn't run them long either.

Even in a 2wd 4cyl? There is a ton of room as the suspension looks like the 4wds. But power is limited of course. Plenty for me, especially using the ECT power. Averaging 20-22 mpg now.

I have to say it's impressive towing considering the 4cyl. Any recommendation on a decent white letter tire that looks good but not too aggressive?

I've always liked Michelin LTX A/T 2 but they are an LT and rated E.

Thanks! Not bad for a 2wd 4cyl stock! This is what it looked like stock

My favorite tire but I don't think you can get white letters.

I have the same 2.7 2wd auto. Started with the same stock 16 inch wheels, then got 17 inch rims off a Sport and put on 265/65r17 Bridgestone Deuler H/L Alenza tires. The combo weighs a little more than stock, so I think I lost 1mpg or so, but acceleration feels the same. The tires can have the outline white letters facing out (I didn't chose too). Not too aggressive looking, but a lot better than stock. Very happy with the tires, had them on my tundra previously. IMG_2190.jpg

Looks awesome! I will probably go 265 due to more options than the 255.
