90 less HP and 45 more torque. Hmm, not sure what to think of it.

I would have rather seen them swap in a Tundra V8

You'd probably be thinking I regret this decision as a Daewoo Lanos passes you on the on ramp to the freeway.

Haha seriously, a little more torque wouldn’t be bad. From what I’ve read the Hilux outputs around 330 ft-lbs. Not too bad for a speed burst in the lower range of the gears.

I think the Hilux 0-60 is mid 14 seconds. Towing is the main reason to go diesel. If I'm towing, I'm getting a full size.

Ok wow, I didn’t bother to look that up. Jesus that’s terrible. Yeah that’s what I’ve said before, if I were to make towing a thing I’d be doing often I’d get a 3/4 ton. But that’s not the case right now, the Tacoma is just fine for my offroading needs and occasional hauling of stuff that does not even exceed 500 lbs of weight.

It's nuts to hear a diesel motor in a Tacoma.

Need more info. Similar acceleration with much better highway fuel economy would be cool.

My car is diesel but my truck is gas...

For that kind of money I’d drive something other than a Tacoma... $20k conversion to make it drive like a truck?!

The tundra diesel on their website would be a sweet factory option. 261 hp, 480 ft-lbs

1JZGTE or 2JZGTE that's what I'd like to drop into a Taco. Some of you guys with hard ons for diesel, have probably never owned one.

LOL! I bought a F250 Super Duty with a 6.2 liter Powerstroke. It was a great work truck. (I do stone and tile installations)
A beast of a work truck. I drove it for 10 years... I left it stock. I could load 2 pallets of tile and cruise around NO problemo.
The only time I was rollin' coal was when I was having engine issues...EGR...Turbo unit, Injectors, Injection control modules...

They should be charging more for the conversion to make up for the fact they'll only find some dummy to pay that every once in a blue moon.

I mean if it was a factory option cool but 40k truck plus spending 20k more to void the warranty and still be slow as fuck?

    Dafuq is wrong w you

I mean if you want to not be able to actually do truck stuff then yeah by all means drop a 700hp 2jz in there. If I want fast I’ll drive a car, not a truck.
