So it's not a ground issue then.

It must be that the scan tool is doing something to the network when it's connected then.

What is the production date of your truck? Trying to see if it has a Network Gateway ECU or not.

Looks like if it has blind spot monitor and/or parking assist it has a gateway ECU.

Do you have any screenshots o the modules that are showing up in techstream?

I believe the can bus for the console bridges between this. Its supposed to be programmable and offset the spedo when you put the bigger tire on

If it's on the CAN bus we certainly want to eliminate that as a possibility.

Would a viper alarm that i had installed with remote start be connected to this at all? Never had issues with the alarm. If it is I guess i could take the fuses out of the harness, if i can get to it...

If it's tied to the CAN bus yes, otherwise I wouldn't think so.

How would I know if its tied to a can bus? You mean the physical 2 wires for high and low? Ive heard people say on other posts that the dealer has told them it could be due to aftermarket items connected to the harnesses and everything should be connected to the battery, which i think is BS...

The only way to know is to locate the wires the aftermarket stuff is tapped into, CAN bus wires are usually a twisted pair.

Yea it's setting those codes because the bus is messed up, we need to determine why the bus is messed up. It isn't that the bus is down completely but by the symptoms of the cluster something is corrupting the data on it.

One thing you could try is to unplug the ABS module just for grins, I know you will get a bunch of error messages but see if the gauges are still dropping out with it unplugged.

So I pulled the fuses from the alarm and the problem went away. I can try and rewire it, but dont know where to connect the hot 12+ and the ign+ to. I guess these systems form Toyota are way too sensituve.

I just dont know why i was getting issues sporadically and now its full blown all the time... The alarm has modules on it for remote and windows, etc. I wonder if i should plug in the main fuse, see if it works and then keep testing until i get to the right wire and then figure out how to reroute it to another supply? This is goig to be a PIA

So it's likely indeed tied into the CAN bus somewhere.
Putting aftermarket stuff on a vehicle network bus is never a good idea, sometimes it works fine but alot of the time it causes issues.
