I'm in the market for a new 2017 TRD Off Road double cab 6 foot bed with a 6speed manual. It appears Toyota's website only allows you to build the 6speed MT with the 5 foot short bed? Is this configuration simply not available as a "build your own" and you just have to do an existing inventory search and hoping to get lucky? This is not a thread about which tranny is better. I just would like to know if I can even buy this truck. Heard only 5% of all new Tacomas built are MT and to get a TRD Off Road DC with 6 foot bed 6speed manual tranny you have to walk into a dealership and see if you can order it.

Unfortunately that combo is not available, neither is an Access Cab OR Manual.

If you want a manual trans there are only 4 possible trucks you can get (in the US): TRD OR DCSB, TRD Sport DCSB, TRD Sport AC, and SR AC. That's it. Canada gets a TRD OR AC

I couldn't get the ACLB 6MT TRD OR, so I ended up with a DCSB 6MT TRD OR. I was strongly considering the SR ACLB 5MT 4x4 but, wife talked me out of it, since it wasn't what I really wanted.

Sorry man. If you really want a manual, either save some dough and get the ACLB SR 5MT, or if you want the goodies and the 4 doors buy the DCSB TRD OR 6MT 4x4.

    I love mine to pieces.

I have a DCSB OR Manual on order, I really wanted a AC Manual OR, I could get that combo in a Sport but that's not what I wanted, I don't really need a double cab and hope I can be satisfied with the short bed.

I was stuck with the short bed, but honestly, I'm Glad it's not the other way around since a lot of trails have deep washouts that the long bed would just drag it's ass through. My truck already drags it's ass through some of them... Time for a lift

I don't really need the double cab either, but It holds a lot of gear that can be locked up instead of in the bed. I'm happy with the my decision.

You can build a 4x4 TRD Sport and get the long bed with 6spd manual if that is of interest...

Just because you can build it on the web doesn't mean Toyota offers it. I found that out last year when I ordered mine. I'm not sure of they updated the website since then. The dealer can give you list if you want one. Or you can go buy what is posted on TW there is a lot of info here from people that already tried.

Damn, that sucks because that was the last redeeming hope for me likely getting a 3rd gen. I need to go drive a 3rd gen short bed now...

Damn, sounds like I'm just SOL getting my OR DCLB with M/T. Major bummer! Thanks for all the good intel. I really need the DC & the 6' bed so I'm just gonna have to settle for the A/T. Could wait and see if the 2018 will offer it but don't want to play the waiting game.

What were you able to build on the web that you couldn't actually order?
