So after installing the Toyota LED Illumination Kit PN 00016-00069, when the truck is off, the door locks do not work either via the fob or the switch, there is no power to the interior lights, but the windows will actuate with the switch. When I press the start button the radio comes on as normal, the truck still detects when the key is in the truck or not. If I press the button again, to go into acc mode, everything works as usual...door locks, lights, everything. So in acc mode and with truck running, everything seems to work as normal. It just seems to be a loss of power to the normal components when the truck is off. I've also noticed every time I restart the truck the information screen between the tach and speedo has reset to the mpg page, where as I typically change it to the compass and it usually remains there.

I pulled all the fuses and checked them visually and didnt find any blown. The new led kit works as advertised when the truck is in acc mode or running. Does not light up when the truck is off as it should.

The problem seemed to occur after I tapped into the grey wire in pin 8 of IC3 and one of the white/black ground wires in the driver side kick panel.

After not being able to find anything wrong I took it to the local dealership and spent most of the afternoon there waiting on them to confirm everything I already knew. There only suggestion was to uninstall the kit, which they didn't even know was a Toyota part, and I had to show them on a dealer website and the instructions. Now they are saying the technician can try to install it "correctly" tomorrow, which I imagine would just be a verification of my connections.

My thought is that it is most likely not the connections that have been made since everything works in acc or running. It seems more likely I've blown a fuse, relay, or disconnected a ground by mistake.

Any ideas from someone who is more familiar with the electrical systems in this truck?

    I appreciate any help offered!

Ugh, did you ask about this the other day? Should have gone with rock lights. Hard to say what’s wrong though.
