2017 trd sport tacoma pinging

    I notice that my truck, shift from 2nd to 3rd and the truck kind of lose power for second, but also start pinging for a few second to, does this has happend to anybody and what is the issue? Thanks in advance

    list is growing fast
    Yeah. Mine knocks/pings like crazy when giving gas at low rpm in between shifting up to next gear. Trying 89 octane for now.

    Pinging (spark knock) is caused by several different factors, could be an issue of timing, cheap gas, lean mixture, bad plugs, and more. With how these truck engines are controlled by computer it shouldn't be a timing or mixture issue but who knows!

    I have not taken to the dealership yet, with the issue to get an answer, but my truck only have 4,000 miles but who knows.!!!

    Take it to a dealership. It's it's audibly knocking, that's very hard on the engine. Don't delay.

    My guess is that you are shifting too soon and need more rpms before you start to shift.
