I use the locker and 4LO on every slippery moss covered boat ramp. I have a manual so crawl control is performed by me. I use the clutchless start button to start the truck when I don't want to climb in - like when I'm trying to use the 400w outlet in the bed.

The sport is supposed to be better for on road according to the brochure - but I live in PA where the roads are less than ideal. The OR makes for a very nice ride on some really crap roads.

When you see me rolling down the interstate on a Home Depot run or coming back from the grocery do you just assume that is 100% all I use my truck for? Because... if you are rolling down the interstate and see me aren't you doing the same thing? Is that all you do? Of course you would see me when I'm in a public place ya dolt. I mean, what are the odds you happen to see me driving down a rutted road deep in state forest the with 2 dirt bikes in the back? Or dragging a bunch of mountain bikes and rifles up to the hunting cabin? I only haul the boat down the interstate 20 or so times a year - the race car even less but I go to the grocery twice a week.

As far as the Sport looking sharper - strongly disagree. YMMV.

Be sure to press the vsc button for TRAC OFF mode in H4... that will give you better linited slip on all 4 wheels!

So does it allow more slip when that button is activated? I am wondering? Ie. Can you skid around corners and do donuts n stuff? Not sure exactly what it does. Is it a traction control or a stability control or both? And finally if not can both those settings be turned off?

Also I noticed this can be activated in 2Wd and 4WD drive so what is the difference?

For Off Roading I agree. It also has more back seat leg room. But like the 2nd generation was, it is time for a new 4Runner.

I agree, my 2016 4runner needs more convenience tech. And an 8 speed trans or more. Just don't drop a 3.5 in it.

I wonder if they will do the same thing with the 4Runner and have more power then the Tacoma like they did with the 2nd generation. With the same size engine.

My 2005 Tacoma feels a lot more powerful than my 2016 4runner. I can only attribute it to more weight. I think that's why they had to make the h.o version for the 4runner. It feels gutless to me, whereas my Tacoma feels strong and it has 236k on it

Imagine how your Tacoma would have felt if it had the same HP and Torque ratings as your 2016 4Runner.

That's true. Goes to show how weight pays a large roll in how a vehicle performs

Power is one of my largest complaints with my 4runner, coming from a full size 2012 hemi didn't help

A concept lost on a lot of people, as well as aerodynamics of a vehicle.

There is a reason they call the Land Cruiser the Land Bruiser.

When you look at it before you turn the light off in the garage, how does it make you feel? That is the difference.

Nobody should pay $35,000 to do donuts, seriously.
2WD is AUTO LSD and H4 is TRAC OFF. Basically the same function in that there is no throttle or engine reduction so more power to drive you. TRAC and the stronger TRAC OFF/AUTO LSD are limited slip or limited tire spin features. Spinning tires is a waste of energy and does not move you. Tires with traction are where you want power to be delivered to.

You need to experiment which setting works best for you. I am near San Diego so I have only been in the snow a couple times with this Tacoma.

lol I live in Canada dude. Winter and snow is a normal thing to me.

4hi is all thats needed 4lo would be too much. Point is that the mud/sand setting also works good for snow, but it not being available in 4hi means I can't take advantage of it.

I'll back you up on this. My 2010 4Runner was in every way superior to my 2016 Tacoma. Not even a comparison, really.
