Great write up. I'll be attempting next weekend. OEM bulbs just don't cut it.

    Thanks!

Yeah these LEDs are awesome, they completely shame my low beams. I was driving in the rain the other day and these fogs were the only things giving me any usable light.

I know what I need to upgrade next... In fact I have a box from TRS sitting in my garage right now :)

After reading this review, I tightened my adjustments screws before installing, so I only had to loosen the screws a bit.

Installed mine this afternoon in about 20 min. I too went in from the top, which was no problem. I appreciate @DarkestCon providing some tips to make sure the polarity of the plug was correct.

I also used a pair of small needle nose pliers to pull the metal tab securely into the plug housing.

Just a note on this comment, I found that the only one of the bottom tabs fit into a slot. The outboard side, the side with the attachment screw on top, didn't fit into a slot, the tab rested flush on top of the plastic. On the opposite side, inboard (motor side), both the upper and lower tabs fit into the slots.

    Correct?

BTW I just installed 6500k HID bulbs with the TRS 55W ballast and the colors match the LED DRL and LED Fogs perfectly.

Apparently when you make the jump in wattage from 35w to 55w the kelvin rating of your bulb drops. So the 6500k bulbs drop down to the 5000k range.

Man, I'm 5'9" on a good day with normal length arms. It really took very little reach - I had no problem manipulating the screw with my hand to get it finger tight while holding the light housing in place. I actually did it twice as I originally mixed them up and put the right side on the left and vice versa.

My next install is the TRS/Morimoto 35w HID kit with the 5500k bulb. As you said, 5500 is supposed to be the sweet spot to match up to these fogs. I'll be curious of your impression. And, post up some pics of your mounting location for the ballasts, relays, etc.

I think you have it right. Do both the inboard tabs slip into the mounting slots?

Both the outboard sides rest on a little protrusion from the bumper. If I remember correctly I think there was some soft of lip on the protrusions that matched up with the ones of the fogs.

That is correct. The top of the outboard side sits on top of the attachment screw hole and the bottom just rests on the plastic. The inboard side, top and bottom, slip into the slots. Good to go.

The TRS solution is awesome! Its literally a night and day difference :)
Light output is greatly increased and our stock projectors seem to handle the additional light well. There is even a really cool blued cutoff. Not to mention now all the lights on the front have the same color temp.

The quality of the kit is outstanding all the harnesses included were neatly lumed and labeled.
I was initially worried about the bulb shake that people were experiencing from the other thread. Granted I haven't been off-road yet but around town but I haven't noticed anything. I did install the upgraded grommets though.

Right now everything is just zip tied in. I wanted to lay everything in and get it all wired up before I mounted them all in.
So far I only have the passenger ballast in its final resting place. There is a hole that leads from the engine bay out to the radiator area near the headlight that was absolutely perfect for it.
I'll be sure to post up some photos when its all said and done.

I got my HiD kit from TRS installed this afternoon. You're right about the quality of the components - excellent quality. I made a bracket for the relays and driver's side ballast that hangs off of the forward battery bracket. On the passenger side, I mounted the ballast on the radiator support with a couple of sheet metal screws - was a perfect fit. I still have some wire tucking to do, but overall the install went well.

Now to find a reason to go for a drive tonight!

That is an excellent idea for all the components on the driver side; makes everything neat. Im going to steal that idea :)

Will head over to home depot first to see if I can find a H-Brace or L-Bracket that I can make work instead of fabbing one on my garage floor.

Below is the one that I used. Drilled a couple of extra holes for the relays and ballast to mount and then put it in a vice and hammered off a portion of the lower piece. Then hit it with a file and some rubbing alcohol followed by a couple of coats of flat black rustoleum and it works perfect. I'm going to pull out the too long self tapping screws and replace with a short nut and bolt.

    Perfect solution! Thanks!

Just curious, are you seeing any of the vibration from the other TRS thread?

I am not. I'm only a few days in but, I have no issues at all. I intend to post a full review in the big Morimoto thread.
