Installed from top. I'm only 5'6", the secret is to have something to stand on.

Hey everyone, Just wanted to follow up with everyone who has these. I am currently thinking of ordering them but I am curious as to how do they hold up and would you recommend them? I see the install may be easier going through the top.

Hey, installed them back in May. Left in June on a 4 month camping trip. Ran the Morimoto Fogs when necessary before dark. Many times they were on all day as we drove through smoke from wildfires. No problem so far. Highly recommend for beam pattern, focus and brightness. The stock fogs are merely placeholders for display.

I've had mine installed for two years or so and they are still going strong. I would recommend these for city/highway driving though, not for offroad where you need more light further down range.

I still love mine. Mine are on whenever my truck is running along with my headlights. That's close to 8k miles. I drive like a nut over bad roads too. Highly recommend them.

Yup! Run mine with the DRLs whenever light is needed but not headlights. Did many miles of washboard dirt roads on our camping trip. Zero issues with the Morimotos or the Hikari-Philips LED headlight bulbs. Very favorably impressed with both products.

A bit of a challenge to change and well worth the effort.

Yah...but...bright ass LEDs suck in the fog.
Good Halogens are better if you are using them as fogs.

Installed and love them and they are super bright. I went in through the top, was a bit tricky feeling your way around but was done in about 30 minutes. Photo really does not do justice.

I just got these in the mail. I put the wires in backwards on what Morimoto supplies. Is there anyway to back these out and switch them?

I did the same thing. Yes they can be backed out, but it's not obvious how to do it. I called The Retrofit Source and they explained how to do it. I don't recall the exact steps.

    tools:
philips screwdriver, maybe a short one too.
    flashlight; must be mouth size
    multi meter
    Tips:
    access from top
disconnect plug before unscrewing at mounting point.
hang on to light when taking mounting screw out.
meter should not have a - sign before the numbers. mine showed “13”.
if its negative then your hot from the truck is the wire thats touching the black lead from the meter. in my case power is a light green wire.
take a minute before installing wires into
plug...make sure oriented properly. keep in mind how the two plugs mate up, its only fits one way.
just my .02, but it was pretty simple.

Fished the install just now, from the top. Was not hard at all. Love the difference in light color.

It is a close match to the color of my Hikari-Philips LED headlight bulbs.
