Honestly shouldn’t have to troubleshoot a 2017 Taco OR after two weeks of purchase. I would understand if it was a mid 2000’s. But for the amount of money this thing cost, it’s kind of pathetic.

Highly doubt they would good will and warranty any repair where diesel was added. That’s usually a big money maker for a shop, even if it’s as simple as draining the tank and flushing the tank and lines. However if it did happen I would be more concerned with the high pressure pump being ruined. Perhaps that’s your issue

I think too maybe the fuel pump is bad for some reason . Maybe it will be fixed this time and no more problems hopefully .

Exactly. I put a few VINs of Tacos on Carmax into the Toyota website and I was floored on what people did.

I'm sceptical of the diesel fuel diagnosis. Prolly actually just a bad CPS, since that was a thing on 16-17 model years and the symptoms seem to match.

I kinda give the truck a pass here. The previous owner and service dept. are definitely failing you though.

Once running properly, I'd be rolling that negative equity over on a new ride with a full warranty.

That maybe something else to look at. But since it usually leaves no codes, they may hit a road block.

That’s the plan. We’ve got a close friend that works at the Yota dealership that’s looking for the truck I want as we speak.

It’s been pretty awful. I work for my city’s police department and have literally been losing sleep over this nonsense. Having to stay up after working nights just trying to get my truck to work.

Sorry to say this, but these type issues could happen to any new or used vehicle. I don't think previous wrong fuel mishaps are the reason here for the current problems.

It could've been just a lemon as much as hate to say it, since I really don't believe in that sort of thing, it does happen non the less

Sorry to hear about your trouble, I'm inclined to agree with most people for you to get it running and dump it. Problems caused by previous owners, some dealer's offer a 15-30day warranty. but being sold as is doesn't seem that's going to happen. Heard a long time ago, "sign said for sale not must buy"

Trade it in and buy or lease something new with a warranty. If you can't depend on it what good is it?
