    Rollin' hydrocarbons!
I was told by a VW tech that they moved to the weird plugs because they don't want folks to be draining oil out through there. Vacuum device through the dipstick tube only.

Still back and forth on what tint I want as well. Luckily no migraines though, that's unfortunate! Polarized sunglasses have helped me fwiw.
Pick mine back up tomorrow. Slowly realizing it's going to be very hard to wait until warranty is up to tune it haha.
At least I can do some aesthetic and small functional upgrades/mods for now. Been eyeballing some Black Forest stuff too. Ordered rack since REI is having member benefits right now, so that's something. Most time spent on it lately has been trying to keep pollen from collecting too much and thus getting into sunroof drains haha.

I swapped in a Mahle filter as well, I'll take any edge on pollutants that I can get.

Going to be up in PA in May though, always enjoy finding new roads up there, especially in Amish country and around some of the orchards. (Whole extended family is from NJ/PA, I'm down in Southeast VA)

See if K&N makes a cabin filter for it. Washable/reusable. All my cars have them now.

I'll have to check that out when I'm due next, thanks. Interested to see how the activated carbon filter does over the old.
(I'm so used to not even having a cabin air filter in the 1st gen, nice to have again)

Tint... I'm running XPEL Prime XR Plus on my truck. Works great!

CAF... the K&N is nice because it's reusable. However, it isn't a HEPA filter. So if you have seasonal allergies, it may not be the right choice for you. I have seasonal allergies, so I run a HEPA style filter from Spring to Fall. I run the K&N through the Winter.

I'll fill this thread in but I was just on cars and bids looking for wagons because mine was almost totaled last Wednesday. currently it's in the shop.

All that matters is my pregnant wife, baby, and I are okay. super scary time though but we're through the worst of it

P.S.- You mentioned your sunroof TSB a while back I think, do you know if they just cut the little flaps off the tubes?
I asked my service guy if there were any TSBs on mine and he said no, which I thought was odd. (2018)

Been a little back and forth on keeping versus flipping it. Seeing the horror stories on sunroofs didn't help. Have warranty until January, but even the advisor at VW said they don't have a leak fix.

I would look it up by VIN yourself. I have little faith in the guys at the counter. From experience.

And I don't know that a VW exists that doesn't have a sunroof drain TSB! :D

Not to knock them, but those guys typically don't know much about cars and they're just regurgitating what the tech is telling them. The game of telephone comes into play there.

I have been fortunate at times to have service writers to know cars a little. But even then, I've been told stories.

Oh I'm fine with knocking them when it's due. One advisor has some VW tattoos so at least he's an enthusiast but he's not the guy I've been dealing, though I'm not sure how far that'd go anyway. I'll look up what I can and see what might be open for calls. The more I look into VWs it just seems they (certain models anyway) lean toward more risky to own out of warranty. This thing doesn't even have 8K miles on it yet, so at least I'm in an okay position if I want to auction/flip.
