The 6.7s run so quiet too, you can hardly tell it's a diesel while you stand next to it and have a conversation. I have a bulletproofed 6.0 and you can hear it clatter from a block away

Getting a 4 banger in a double cab is a bold move especially with all that shit added onto it. I felt a pretty big difference just upgrading my wheels and keeping wildpeaks in the stock size. I could probably walk faster than my truck if I put 33's on it

Hell my 2016 SR 2.7L 4x4 5 speed will average about 17-18 city on 285s with a 3" lift, sliders and skids and a bunch of other weight and average about 21-22 highway when doing summer trips! I currently have almost 61k on the truck!

Wow - probably he's the problem. My 2015 2.7 with 5 speed manual in STOCK form gets 34 to 35 MPG regularly with both city and highway combined. (Imperial gallon which is 4.5 US quarts so probably around 30MPG in USA). I always shift at 2500 RPM and truck has adequate power - if I wanted a lot of power, I would have not bought a Tacoma. I am completely happy with truck and has never had a single issue since new other than squeaky clutch pedal sometimes ( easy fix). It has better MPG than the Kia Sportage 4 cyl. it replaced.

    I'm here for the memes
    Warning: a little rant.
I've got the 2.7L and before had 265/70/17 (31.5's). To get better MPG's I literally watched the video that @SoCalTacoTruck made. I am not paid to say this or any of that BS, I didn't know anything about getting MPG's but after I watched his video I was able to pull 21-23 MPG's.

You have to know with any larger tire size your MPG's are going to decrease without a regear. If you do trips regularly and are dedicated to get the best MPG's you can get, each time you fill up at the gas station your mpg reader on the dash is recalculated because you put a whole new tank of gas in. Best thing to do before a trip is get a full take of gas and stay under 2k rpm. Yes, you are going to drive like a grandma I know, but you will get MPG's higher than you on edibles. I have recently gone up to Falken AT3 285/75/17 (34's) with an ARB locker and 4.88 gears, I now still get 20-22 mpg's on the freeway because of the regear. For the week that I did not have a regear, the truck was fine, but there was definitely a hunt for gearing on the freeway and I was averaging around 15-17. Again its all about how you drive. Its a truck, don't expect too much. If your going out to Hesperia from the OC and you have to go up the Cajon pass, your MPG's will drop. *SHOCKER* I put some pics of my best MPG's that I was able to get with the truck. First two picture are on the 31.5's last pic is on the 34's.

Wow my face on the bring screen hahahahaha

Yeah keep your RPM's under 2k, don't do over 65mph on the freeway, don't take off with a heavy foot...Pretty simple. And then maintenance too.

Add a snorkel while you're at it
