It has pimples under the paint every where and some good scratches in the driver door frame. This thing has less then two hundred miles on it I’m so bummed! The dealer is Big island Toyota and the don’t seem to give a fuck at all. I think I’m going to have to get a attorney. I have been in twice but they give me the run around. This is the worst paint job I have ever seen!

Sorry about your troubles. My dealer had me and a tech walk around and document any fit or finish issues, both inside and outside. They didn't do that with you?

Wow, that's not cool. My $25k silver SR has flawless paint. It's so glossy, it looks like it was treated with ceramic. Raise hell, brother.

Maybe find the time to take the truck to a reputable body shop and get an estimate to "fix" the paint issue.

They might be able to give you their opinion how the damage occurred and how long ago it was done.

If you go back to the dealership with that documentation, you might fare better.

Possibly call corporate if it is actually partly a "defective" paint job

My opinion is that if the dealership tried to railroad you at the time of purchase and is not owning up, I would never let them touch my truck again, period.

Get some monetary compensation and find another dealership.

    Good luck!

This is good advice. Have a pro look at the pimpling and see if they can't tell you how it may have been caused.

The picture you posted of the "scratches" look like scuffs you could easily clean up with a clay bar. Can you FEEL the scratches? If they aren't deep enough to feel you can paint correct them (ie buff them out). If they are deep enough to catch your fingernail #1 it's in the door jam so you never see it #2 just keep it clayed and clean and you'll never see them.

It's incredibly rare to ever get a automaker to cover paint defects. The largest reason being it's really hard to prove once you take the truck off the lot, that the damage isn't your fault. The door jam scratches aren't going to get fix by them. No way to prove they sold it to you that way.
The bubbling/pimpling might be more serious. Have a paint guy look at them and they'll tell you if some detail work will fix it up. If the issue is a paint defect that requires a repaint of a panel, get a quote and take it into the dealer and ask that they pay for it.

A lawyer is out of the question. Small claims litigation is tough because there is ZERO money in it. You'll spend more having a lawyer draft a complaint than you will on just fixing the shit yourself out of pocket LOL. Plus the legal system is long. It could take 5 years before this issue ever got resolved.

Just work on getting it fixed. Next time inspect your truck much better before you drive off the lot.

You are the customer, you are spending 30k plus. They don’t rush you period. If it’s raining you make them pull it into the service bay so you can properly inspect the vehicle. They work for you when you are buying!

    That orange peeling tho lol.

On a serious note that's a lot of defects in the paint. I'd be pissed...

    Good luck op

Poor QC coming out of Tijuana and San Antonio. The robots still need a human to check their work. That truck should have never been loaded on the train car in that condition. Sad.

Taking my truck back to the dealer today, they are going to buy it back from me. I going to get my down payment back and the money for my side steps. This truck should have never made it past QC. I will post more after I get finished today. I’ve had the truck for 3 weeks but only drove it 200 miles. I have a company truck for work. The paint problem really bummed me out every time I got in the truck. Kinda hard to accept them telling me they will repaint my new truck! Finally said to bring it back and they will buy it back from me full price.

At over $40K OTD there's no excuse for using low cost inferior paint products and not using best practices for paint preparation and application.

OP this truck was most likely a transportation damage claim .. I see (a dealership painter/bodyman ) a lot of trash in the paint that wasn't buffed and the larger dark specks would be impossible to buff out due to the depth of the trash. A transportation company often damages new vehicles on pickup and delivery and they dont just shit can them there usually fixed at the delivery point and are not responsible to notify the customer under a certain dollar amount . Most flaws in paint work are because of this . The scratches on the windshield pillar are most likely from door disassembly. Probably coming up and over with a removed mirror .
