    Question!
Is the 4 cylinder being offered in 2018 with a 6 speed manual?
    Cheers

Interesting, for the 6th gear ratio on that configuration it is blank....

I know I saw the options sheet at the dealer and did not see a 4cyl/4x4/MT combo, but I may have missed it. Very interested to see what's actually available.

    Are those the 5-speed ratios?

Tracking 5 speed is discontinued, the assumption we have all been making is that the 2.7L manual is dead.
However look at the 2018 guide, 2.7L - 6 speed manual.
I'm thinking it is an error but this is enough to ask the question.

From the press room news release ...

“Each of the engines can be teamed to a six-speed Electronically Controlled Automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), or the V6 can also be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.”

    :notsure:
Could go either way I think, Toyota has their head too far up their ass to get their story straight before they release news lol.

It would be so idiotic to not offer the 4cyl with MT.

This was my impetus to buy one last year. Turns out my paranoia that they would stop making them was correct!

I get the appeal to the manual.. always owned one myself. I just went with an auto this time around tho on a 2017 4cyl, and have to say the 6 spd auto on the 4 cyl is absolutely amazing. Shift points are perfect. No hesitation. No hunting for gears. Zero issues that the V6 guys complain about. And that extra gear puts you at 2000 RPMs at 75 mph, and it stays there even with a moderate hill.

There is no way they are going to make a 4 cylinder 2.7 with a 6 speed manual, you can hardly use 5th gear let alone a 6th....

The ratios they show are for the R155F.

4 cylinder 5 speed is done, and manual is only on v6

Other changes to the best-selling mid-size pickup for 11 years running include a minor grille update to the SR and SR5 grades, a darker mesh grille for the TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road grades, and the Tacoma Limited features an updated Satin Chrome grille and offers a new black leather-trimmed interior. The 5-speed manual transmission is discontinued for 2018, though the 6-speed manual transmission remains available on certain models.

They could just have a 4.56 rear.

I was planning on buying a 3rd gen in around 5 years or so. I was going to get this cab and drivetrain combo. I guess Toyota just saved me 25k

The 2018 Hilux is also dropping 5 speed stick and will only be available with either a 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic. So couldn't the 2TR-FE could still get a stick shift? That may be a global Toyota move to drop 5 speeds and use only 6 speeds.

I think we need to buy all the Manuals we can get while they're still available.
