My '18 4x4 double cab sport seems quite Noisy from rear of truck starting at about 35 mph and getting louder from there. At least quite a bit louder than my 1996 Tacoma 4x4.

I've seen the threads on noisy differentials however this is more road noise or combination of tire noise and wind than a roar or howling from the differential.
    Normal?

There are two huge vents in the back wall.

Try getting up to the speed where you hear the noise and then turning on recirculate, which will close those vents. If you hear quite a big reduction in noise, then the vents are the cause. Some guys remove the rear panel and install egg crate foam against the vents to reduce the noise. You don't want to block them completely, because some air flow needs to happen in the cab.
