We bought a 2018 TRD of road for my wife to do a rural postal route.i had to build a platform to hold the mail trays on the passenger side.removing the seat set the red lights of on the dash. I removed as much of the harness from the seat as well as the seat belt and plugged everything back in and red lights are still on.there are four sensors on the seat base two have grey connectors, two have black connectors and a yellow one that i thing is for the weight sensor. These sensors are not easily removed from the seat base so i left them disconnected from the truck.I am assuming this has left my air bag system non operational ? Also will this cause any type of problem? I am going to try to find a seat from a wrecking yard and use these sensors if i can find one. Thanks for the replies.

Without testing, your best case scenario is to do as you intend.

Reconnect all the sensors (via junkyard) and let the truck think the seat is intact with no passenger.

It’s not likely that you’ll find someone who will say their driver side airbag failed to deploy in a massive front end collision because they had disconnected the passenger side of the system.

If you do find that person, you’ll still have to decide to trust their response.

So am I correct in thinking there is no chance of deployment as it sits?

You should be disconnecting the battery when playing around with the airbag wiring...that would be the yellow connector

Oh yes I did. But just trying to confirm that with it wired up like it is ---- I.E. everything hooked up EXCEPT the 4 sensors and the yellow wire there is no chance of deployment on either side. Pass side has been turned off.
