Hoping for something I’m overlooking. Truck now has 2000 miles but noticed it around 1000 miles. Sometimes I’ll get in to push start engine without my seat belt on and do paperwork with ac on or look up something on my phone or whatever then I’ll go to click in seat belt and put into drive and then as I drive away I noticed the seat belt indicator is showing it’s not fastened. So I’ll put it in park. Release and click again. Sometimes that works sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes I’ll have to shut the truck off then turn back on to resolve or earlier I had to shut truck off and open door then start. It about 10%of the time but it’s freaking annoying and I know it’s one of those if it’s not actively happening while at the dealership and they can’t duplicate they’ll just say bring it back. I’m thinking it’s a software issue with the computer cause my girls 2018 Camry does that occasionally in the rear seat.
Anybody else every had that issue or hopefully I resolution. ?

    Possibly a loose connector somewhere?

Your not leaving anything somewhat heavy on the passenger seat are you (noticed you said you do paperwork). Could be passenger seat thinking something is on it?

I have had this happen a few times. It does not need to be very heavy either.

Mmmmm. Lunch box and clip board. Never noticed I there’s one or two indicators. I’ll try that if it trips out again. I take stuff off of the seat. That would be great. I let you know. Good mindset. I love this forum. Thx bro

Thank you everyone. It WAS my lunch box and clip board. It happened again... lifted it off and light went off. Cool. No new car blues now

I fell for that when I first got my 2018. After telling my friends I was concerned about all the bells, whistles, sensors and electronics of the new vehicle I promptly had a seat belt light that wouldn't go off at times. Couldn't believe that of all things to go that would be the first and it certainly didn't bode well for the future. Lots of anxiety ensued until I figured out it was only happening when I had my amp (I'm in a band) on the passenger seat. Crisis averted!

That happened to me recently, on a road trip going 75 mph. I just reached over and buckled the passenger belt. Quick fix as I had a cooler and backpack on the seat I wanted handy and couldn't exactly do much else to fix it.
