Where I live you can get mud diver nests if the truck sits for about 3 days. Just check for signs of being in a flood. The dust comes from the territory... the many sugar cane fields around Houma.

Missing a couple of cylinders, otherwise it looks fine to me.

No real comment on if its okay or not, as everyone here is completely going to be speculating. All I can say, is trust your gut. There's really no need to spend the rest of your truck ownership subconsciously looking for issues with your very expensive purchase when theres plenty of other trucks out there that won't twist your gut upon inspection. If its too good to pass up, do yourself a favor and invest in having a reputable shop (of your choice, not theirs) give it a thorough look over, and explain all of your concerns. A couple hundred dollars possibly lost could potentially save you thousands in headaches.

With that photo you might as well be a hundred feet away, interior is where you will find out if it was in water.

Nothing under the hood looks unusual, probably cleaner than mine.

I’d never buy a used vehicle from Louisiana. Too risky.

In Alabama they would form these clumps of shit on walls that if you tried to scrape off, three or four pissed off wasps would immediately jump out and attack you.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Nope. In 45 years of driving I have not done it once on any vehicle I have owned.

I keep them mechanically tip top, in fact better than most tend to, but just not concerned about appearances.

If the engine compartment was spotless....
The OP would be here like "This thing is way too clean.. what do you think the seller is trying to hide?" o_O

Was just watching "Earthstorm" on Netflix and they were in Houma. They place was seriously underwater. Take the door skins off and look for rust and silt. Take the door sills off and lift the carpet and look for the same.

Yep, IMHO cleaning the engine bay is a waste of time. Absolutely no benefit except for how it looks.

So, when you do an oil change or other engine work, you rather work in a mess of an engine bay rather than a clean one? It literally takes under a minute to hose the engine bay down lol

I normally shower once a week, no big deal. I just work on it the same day I take a shower.

I would skip it just because it was from a flood area. Too much risk.
