Looks like most of the explanations here are right on with my experiences too. Put a deposit down in Aug 2017, only to find out that they couldn't get a 17 the way I wanted it. So sat back and waited for the 18's. For whatever reason, the 2018 Tacomas didn't start showing up to the dealers until December I think. I wanted a TRD Sport with the MT, no packages. Only thing added was mudflaps. Got a build date & VIN in late January, and truck got here about 2 weeks later. Yours sounds like it'll be worth the wait.

I ordered a TRD Pro cavalry blue MT mid January. The delivery dates finally dropped to 03/24-03/29. Original estimated delivery was mid April.

I feel the same way. I didn't order a Pro, but apparently the Premium packages are hard to come by right now. So, I wait.

So just talked to the dealer here in Idaho. Put my order in on February 14th. Found out today that my build date is March 19th. Little confused cause when I put the order in the dealer here said they did an allocation swap with another dealer and the truck I wanted was already in the slot to start being built back in February. Truck is a Sport DCSB, tech and premium package, TRD exhaust, mudflaps, all weather floor mats, predator side steps.

I placed my order 5 weeks ago tomorrow. Took 4 weeks to get allocated. It’s been the longest 5 weeks ever. Doesn’t help that TW is crack, meth, and LSD all rolled into a little ball.

They wanted to make money off that one so they wouldn't budge with the price. Even though it was priced nicely. The one I have on order will be under invoice so I'll wait.

I placed my order on 3/5/18, and so far no allocation or schedule information. Just that the factory has "accepted" my order.

I ordered a DCLB OR 4x4 with the Tech and Premium packages.

So I have had quite the ups and downs with this one. After originally posting this, the dealer got back to me with a build date of 4/9. Me being a control freak I asked for the invoice they received from the factory so I could make sure they got everything right. Thankfully I did, as they literally had nothing right. Color was wrong, packages were not what I asked for. My salesman had been difficult to work up to that point, so to say that I blew up on him was a bit of an understatement.

Long story short the manager told me that Toyota doesn't make many DCSB Off roads in cement with a MT and technology package, so they would have to "special order" one, which can only be placed at the end of the month, and that it would take up to 4 months to get. So I thought I was getting the truck end of April sometime but now looks like its end of July. Which I ultimately decided to do, as the manager offered to give me the TRD cat back Exhaust for no cost for the trouble.

Well about two weeks later I get an email saying that the truck is scheduled to be built on 5/3 and should have it mid-late may. So my guess is "special order" my ass and the dealer got lucky. But who knows, even though it is scheduled to be built in 2 days I'm not getting excited until the dealer says its here...I'm still planning on late July lol

My sales lady called me and said my truck, White TRD Pro was ordered and should be here mid-June with a build date of 5/19/2018. I put a deposit down. I got a temporary VIN number and a Spec sheet to look at. It showed my truck ordered 4/2018. I'm hoping mine shows up when they say. How long from the build date until arrival at the dealership typically?

My truck got here super quick. Just a few days. But I am just across the border in Phoenix. Your truck is coming out of TX and traveling farther. I would say 10 days.

That'd be nice. I've been buying accessories and lights and sliders. It's getting expensive waiting. LOL.

My buddy order a new Wrangler JL back in January. Still not in. Apparently Chrysler is having some shipping issues, and his Jeep in sitting in some lot in Ohio. So, he decided to buy another Tacoma (has had two before). His is in transit and should be here any day. Toyota is pretty good and getting vehicles to the dealer pretty quick once they are built.

Hey all, Just landed myself in is situation. I was looking for a cement access cab. Got into it with a salesman about ordering a truck. Cement Sport with MT.. Long story short, left $500 dep. on just such a truck with minamal accessories that's in the " pipeline " allocated to another dealer..Seems it had a May build date.. I think the plan is to intercept it.. ??? This was April 27. Nothing definitive as of yet but was told 8 to twelve wks worse case.. Needless to say I'm anxious about it but gonna see how it plays..

They don't make an Off Road Manual Access Cab for here, only Canada.
