    Yep.

I think Merc screwed up leaving Ham out so long on those tires. Seb made up tons of time after his pit stop.

A driver on a different tire strategy to his rival has no way of knowing what lap time he needs to hit to catch up at the end of the race

Either way I don't think HAM liked the balance of the car all weekend. If he would have gotten the info he needed, I don't know that he had the legs to catch up. My $.02

Board at the pitwall that you occasionally see them show during the broadcast.

But no that wouldn't really be a good way for a driver. make them try to do math to figure out their target lap times while managing the car...all at 100+ mph.

I hav eno issue with a team telling a driver target lap times since the driver still has to do the driving and hit that mark

So we're two races in now with this much-anticipated Sky Sports coverage. My thoughts so far:
    • I miss Will Buxton on the grid. Very much.
    • The commentators seem knowledgeable, but the combination of their considerable twangs and the car-heavy sound mix is such that I don't catch much of what they're saying. No blame on them but the old NBC coverage was easier to hear. Now, my hearing is abysmal. But wife complains too.
    • I miss the old pre- and post-race coverage, particularly post-race. Sky post-race might be great, I dunno. Maybe I'll drop a line.

I also miss Will on the grid and doing "impromptu" interviews when someone crashed out. Like last year when he was really trying to pin Seb down on the contact with HAM under the safety car. Fucking guy would not let Seb take the easy way out, I miss that.

The commentary is much harder to follow for those reasons. On the other hand, I don't feel like I am really every listening to them. What I mean is this: NBC coverage was such that I feel like I listened to the commentary and the race sounds where in the background, and Skies coverage is exactly the opposite. Which I like. When they say something that I miss, I don't feel like I need to rewind to see what tid bit of info I missed. With NBC, I would continuously be rewinding. Maybe it has to do with the quality of information too.

Any of you guys watching the F1 YouTube channel? Will buxton is on there for post race stuff, it’s not as energetic and crazy as it was on tv before but it’s still good to watch. Especially since we don’t get post race on espn2.

I like Sky even more than the Brundle / Coulthard days of BBC F1 coverage

I'm going to see them tonight. We have tickets for a show with the old NBC trio + Mario Andretti. That is if the snow ever stops!

Just read that this morning. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you ditch the over bearing reg's.

There are definitely too many involved in the pitstops. I like the idea of an Indy size crew for pitstops.
