SO many missed opportunities this quali and race.

If Kimi hadn't choked in Q3 I think it would've been his race to lose. Hulkenberg was charging until he took himself out, he may have had a chance at his first podium finally. WTF was Vettel thinking there? Just plain unlucky for Bottas and the exact opposite for Lewis.

 

I really like this track. One of the better street circuits there are and seems to produce interesting race results.

My prediction is that Riccardio will leave RB just to get away from Verstappen as a teammate no matter how much money they offer. Will he replace Bottas or Raikkonen?

Ok, I'll say it, I am not that impressed with safety cars re-ordering the race finishes this year. Too NASCARish for my comfort level.

 

Agree that Max caused the wreck at the end. If Ric wasn't as forceful on his first attempt they would have wrecked then too. Somebody needs to give that kid a spanking.

Just re-read my post, sorry, not my intent. I am talking about the position jumping that is happening in, and with, the pits after an incident that calls for the safety car, not the car itself. Ferrari and McL got a win, and lost a win so far this year. Guess that evens out, but still.

Safety car is part of racing , sometimes you get lucky with where you are on track when it comes out , sometimes you don't , no way around it

 

Not a F1 fan but here is Shumacher’s Ferarri from the last year before his first retirement. Was at a trade show for Shell that my wife was running. Complete car as raced with the exception of “travel” tires and minus motor and trans. At the end of the day 4 of us picked the whole car up and turned it 45deg and walked it out the double doors. It was a one hander for each of us.
