Considering making the trek to CoTA with my kiddo this October. He's done Indycar, NASCAR, asphalt & dirt late models, dirt midgets. Now he wants to see an F1 race.

    Concerns:
Kids over age 2 pay full ticket price: $169 General Admission, or $275 Bleachers (Turns 4, 9, 12)
I went in '12, when the cars sounded rad. I'll never forget that feeling in my chest. Now they don't sound so rad.

Should I wait until they make they cars loud(er) again?
Is there a chance F1 won't return to CoTA after the 10 year contract is up (2021)?

I'm looking at $358 to $550+ ticket fees, food, and transportation. My last CoTA solo trek was $270 in Megabus tickets, a sack of apples, a jar of peanut butter, and crashing on friend's floors from NoLa to Austin and back to Georgia.

RBR will be in a much better financial position next year which should improve the pace of technical development and the odds of a very a lucrative salary negotiation. Honda appears to have regrouped and the RBR machines will be, unlike with Renault, Honda's number one priority. The upcoming rule changes will probably scramble the order of the top three teams. RBR is just as likely to be on top as Merc or Ferrari and at both those teams he could end up as their "number two" driver. This is a moment for Ric where he either has a shot at becoming a world champion or makes an unfortunate choice aka Alonso. So I think he sits tight.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
Agreed. At this point I think the doors to Merc and Ferrari are closed to him, I'd be surprised to see a lineup change at Mercedes and the only thing I could see at Ferrari is letting Kimi go to bring in Leclerc. So that leaves Ricciardo with 2 options, take the McLaren offer and stack cash or roll the dice on RBR and Honda in the hopes they can get the engine performance and reliability to make a legit run at a championship.

Circuit Paul Ricard hurts my eyes. They couldn't have made that place any uglier or more stupid looking of that was their plan.

Especially the in car view, I don’t know how the drivers can tell which way is which. There’s like no depth perception or anything lol

Grit comes in black and grey coatings too. No need to paint the fucking place like some kind of psychedelic flag maze.

No way Alonso does another year in F1 if he has to be in a McLaren
