You don't think Hamilton was at fault for them almost colliding ?

Didn't see it but your original post just struck me as a typical move hence me assuming it was a rhetorical question

they were both on out laps, but Sirotkin had the hammer down, whilst LH was waiting for separation from Bottas

As far as entertainment, that was probably my favorite race this season. Lotsa “scrapping” going on the entire race.

all you LH haters gotta admit, be it luck (as in todays race) or skill, we are witnessing some serious skill here, and why, should it not continue?

I wish all races could be that competitive and close.

The stewards dinged Ocon for the incident but fishlips fucked up in a big way. He knew damn well that Ocon was right there alongside and let his sense of entitlement and emotions get the better of him. Tried to stuff him off the track and failed...just like other drivers fail when they attempt to stuff fishlips off the track. Hamilton told him the cold hard truth in the cool down room. Failure to manage himself and his own race cost him the top step on the podium and frankly he was lucky it didn't cost him a lot more.

While I can see some of the argument on both sides, when it happened I just thought "karma for past events..."

I agree with this. I also think it will be this way for him his whole career. He's an aggressive driver and he will win and lose battles along the way. Still his fan though.

Maybe, maybe not. Contrary to his public statements he has obviously grown up some this year. Clearly more patient and less prone to trouble.

No doubt he will mature as a driver and refine his skills but I think he will always have that aggressive trait which won't always pay off.

It seems like the biggest argument most people are making against Ocon is that he should've ceded position because he was lapped but why should he have to stop racing if he had an opening where he thought he could get past fishlips and continue pushing for his own position? If it had been fishlips in the other position I would be willing to bet the only difference would have been that whoever else was in the lead would've had the sense to leave enough room to avoid a collision and maintain their race position. He got what was coming to him with a little taste of karma.

And then I think the whole incident after the race was a bit childish but I'm glad they didn't try to make a bigger deal of it than they did, I think an official reprimand would've been sufficient but a bit of community service seems fair as well.

My first thought when I heard that something was coming due to the after-race activities, I thought Anger Mgmt classes. Then I thought, ANY of those F1 drivers in Anger Mgmt class would be "interesting", and worth the cost of admission, to say the least. :D

I'm old enough, and come from a rough enough place, that I totally understand and often sympathize with a bit of "physical emphasis". It can do absolute wonders in helping a man to improve his manners. :) But the last thing I want to see is F1 turn into NASCAR or ice hockey no matter how much Liberty would like that.

    I stand corrected

Anyone is entitled to drive their out lap just as fast as they need to.

Damn. Lucky nobody else was hurt or killed.

Any idea what caused it? All I see in that video is him going backwards and some contact but didn't seem like enough for that much airtime

That real time is scary. Looks like she didn't even get a chance to brake and went into it full speed.
