Hi I have question,To tell u the history, the guy bought it new, in the first 6 months Toyota replaced a bad pump. That pump lasted bout 20 thous miles And did same thing? So they replaced it again and went thru fuel system completely tryin to find a problem, they didn't find Any problems. Ok so the second pump lasted bout 5-6 months @. This time he was super busy and didn't have time to drive the 200 mi to dealer that's the closest,we r very rural, so I got a new pump off eBay oem like this one and it lasted bout same length of time! Ok now to this one i last bought, it started doing the same thing, hard long crank times, have to key on off couple times to build pressure? Seems like hot days it's not a problem most times, cold weather it's always a prob. When I put this pump in I made sure tank was clean and it was new clean, there wasn't a spec of dirt or dust.i cleaned all fuel lines and everything else I could and it had perfect pressure till bout two weeks ago when it started messing up? Don't know if this would have anything to do with it but since he bought the pickup u have to put gas in tank very slow or itl click pump off or blow fuel out all over u? I cleaned lines made sure ventts were open? I'm lost? The dealer he bought it from sd they have no idea? Good dealer. But if u could forward this to a tech or maybe you are a tech? Please any ideas or anything would be greatly appreciated? IV checked on forums online and can't find anyone that has had even one go bad? I myself have a 05 and still on factory pump. Thank u much

There’s a large recall taking place on these pumps for failure, for which they’ve not issued a fix yet. Mine whines loudly, but hasn’t died /yet/

    Try an aftermarket pump.
