There is a longer wiring harness for the sensor on the Pro Grill. Some people don't use it.
So I had ordered the 18 grill and garnish avout 9 days ago from Toyota od Dallas "TRDparts4u" I emailed them today about a tracking number. "Barbara" told me that the garnish is in back order amd they would ship everything once they got it. So I told her to just ship the grill. She told me, sorry she just shipped the last one out today. What PISS POOR business ethics! So, I bought the last garnish I could find (paid $95) and had to buy a 17 grill ($389) because Barbara couldn't bother to email me when I ordered it to tell me they didn't have it. Last week I could have bought the 18 grill and garnish from a different place that actually had them in stick. Barabra is an #%@& !

You won’t need a longer harness you will see what I mean when you pull it apart

I bought a TRD garnish off eBay for $65. A little high but I was worried that I would not be able to buy one when I am ready to install the grill. I also plan to just buy a knockoff TRD Pro grill off eBay. The price is great and I probably can sell my factory grill for about the same price which will make my wife happy.

Does the 2018 OR grill fit a 2017? If so, is anybody selling their 2018 Grill? I’d like to buy one.

The 2018 fits the 2016 + but will have the radar style "Toyota" emblem. Also the 2018 is black with a chrome ring vs the 2017 that is mostly all chrome. But they both are the cheese grader type. I plan to sell my 2018 OR grill just as soon as my truck is delivered and my eBay special grill arrives. I placed my order back in January but don't have a build date yet. PM me and I will keep your info and let you know.

Anyone have a suggestion on which of those 2018 Chinese grilles on ebay may be the better one to go after. It may soon be my definite alternative to replace my OR grille instead of an
    OEM.
Toyota seems to have the #35180 locked out pretty well in my area.

I just purchased my eBay special Pro Grill from this seller, loveanad The grill took about two weeks to get to me and was well packed. The Toyota letter were all packed separately. The "T" and "A" are solid gray color and I will need to paint the pack part black to match the other letters. The price was one of the cheapest on eBay with free shipping. Best of luck to you.

Because that is the problem with Chinese stuff, it is 90% there for fraction of the cost. You just have to do a little work to get it 95%-98% there.
I have had a lot of luck buying Chinese stuff (not Tacoma related) and doing some work to get it a lot better. The flip side is I have also got some really bad stuff that wasn't fixable.
In the end it is either time or money that you need to spend to get your desired result- or unfortunately sometimes both!
My opinion, I spent 48k on a nw truck, I am not going to try and save a couple hundred on it now. I am definitely not saying other people shouldn't, I just don't have the time to invest in it. That is why I am so greatful that some members on here put forward so much effort in finding the best stuff and best ways of doing things. I use to do that (custom motocross suspension with custom designed parts), unfortunately I don't have the time in the next 3 years to do crap!

dayusmc is exactly correct! My EBay special Pro Grill does need some work. Couple spots need light sanding to remove some molding tabs. I am also thinking about painting all the letters Black to give the Toyota letters a different look then the other Pro grills out there.

I actually enjoy the customizing part and prefer to start with a cheep part if I plan to modify it. Ultimately do what you like and enjoy your Tacoma. We only live once.

Took some patience, but Toyotaparts4u.com came through with a 2018 pro grill. I saw a few posts of people who had poor interactions with Barbara from TP4U but she was great about communicating with me and why it was taking so long. She told me that 8 people were on the waiting list and Toyota was requesting VINs for each of them. She collected the needed VINs and once they were approved, the grill was sent out, along with the garnish. Considering the cost of what I paid, and the struggles people are having getting one, I’m happy I waited it out. I was super close to canceling the order and buying a Chinese replica...

Install was super straight forward. Only broke 1 tab on the old grill...to install the TSS sensor, remove the bolts from the old grill, reuse the silver nuts that mount the sensor to the grill, and use some speed washers to secure the plastic tabs on the garnish to the grill. The old harness works fine, but you can’t connect all the harness tabs to the new grill without running out of length.

Haven’t had any problems with the sensor. Also, I installed the TacomaPros raptor lights. Hope this helps! C5CF2658-9A7E-44F1-B6F3-D783DAAD0C00.jpg

So I may have a solution to this radar sensor I have been doing some research on how they work and the specifications to allow them to work. I have moved it to the lower grill (just held in by zip ties for the moment) and put my aftermarket grill on. I am testing it out so far the sensor has been fully functional for the past three days and have not got any error. will post pictures tomorrow.
