    Hello everyone,

(So yes I read the other threads on this but everything the dealer has said so far doesn't match what the others had.) I drive a 2018 Offroad and will post updates as to what happens.

Yesterday I was on my way home and I got a "High trans fluid temp" warning and the truck died. I make it to the edge of the road, turn the truck off and it starts fine. I decided I should take it to dealer just in case to be on the safe side. So on the way there today the truck is not shifting right and feels "laggy?" so to speak, I don't really know how to explain that but it is not normal. The traction control also turns off for some reason and the check engine light came on. The technician at the Toyota dealership said the truck is throwing all sorts of codes and they are going to wait to speak directly with "Toyota" on Monday. ( I thought they were Toyota lol). He said it was mass airflow errors, fuel mixture errors, among other things.

At this point I'm not sure what to think, I'll be sure to update the thread. If anyone else had something similar do please let me know

Usually that happens while offroading in hot weather and going up a steep hill. Definetily shouldnt do that just with normal driving.

Good luck and update us with the results.

Well, apparently nothing is wrong with the truck. I do have a K&N intake that is duct to the AmeriHood scoop I have; they are saying that water got inside somehow and it probably came from that since it was raining very bad that day. I've had that hood and intake for a while now with no issues. All the seals/clamps are tight so I'm doubtful about water getting in. I may just switch the intake back as I still have the stock one.. not sure what to make of the whole thing to be honest. o_O:confused:

That's what the dealer will do if there's aftermarket parts installed. They'll find any reason.

Engine blows up? Of course they'll say it could be that new Fumoto drain plug you installed.

I don't see water, in the intake itself, causing all those codes. Strange.

Unfortunately most dealerships will jump right to any mods made, especially engine related. It's an easy way out. Sometimes they are right and the mod is the cause of the failure, and sometimes they are wrong. However, now that this dealership has seen the mods, even if you go back to stock, they will remember. Your best bet is return the stock intake and visit another dealer.
