I would. It's not dripping, but you'll at least want it documented. I imagine it'll get worse. I remember this was an issue with 16's and some 17's but thought this was cleared up by the 18s. I believe they replaced the seals.
    Where was your truck built?

There was a recall for earlier years. Something about the bolts not torqued to spec. I'm not sure why your even asking the question if you should take it back. That is a critical malfunction in the manufacturing process that if left could result in catastrophic failure. TAKE IT BACK IMMEDIATELY

I was told by a Toyota dealer's service dept. that ... once the truck is brought in for a rear diff seal leak ... they have to keep it until it is fixed for safety reasons.

They were keeping some trucks a long time due to the lack of diff seals in the system.

Dealer said ... they give out free rentals for those problems.

Checked my diff and it was OK.

I was just about to ask if they would give me a loaner while they mess with this.

How long does the fix for this normally take? What all do they do?

Seems like barely a seep. I'd let it go rather than have some dealer messing with my dif.

Eh with only 5k its bound to get worst. I had a seep from my rear main seal and didn't find it and have it addressed until 70k miles, cost $1200 to replace. Worth documenting and having it fixed now rather than down the road.

Mine looked like that at 5K too, and then it dried up and went away, I think some of it is just some grease from assembly.

I took these pics at 5k, that stuff wore off and it's still totally dry today with 20k.

Mine look like yours OP, but unlike @shakerhood mine got worse. They kept the truck 38 days waiting on parts. Gave me a loaner Nissan frontier from enterprise rent a car. Fix was new third member housing, gasket/rtv, oil, and rear brake assmbly.

I would retorque the bolts and add 5 ft/lbs and clean it up with brake clean and see if it comes back. If it leaks again, then you know you have a real issue. Why waste your time if there is no need to.
