I have a 2018 SR. Tonight I noticed that my left DRL/Blinker bulb does not come on with the headlights. The one on the right does. If I turn the knob on the stalk down to DRL or the other setting, both DRLs come on. If I turn on the blinker, the bulb comes on. It only turns off the left DRL bulb when the headlights come on. I haven't had a chance to crawl under the hood yet since I work night shift and noticed it on the way here. I figure I'll start by removing the bulb and reinserting it to check it's connection, though I doubt that's the case. I can't imagine that the DRL has it's own fuse for when it's running with the headlights. Maybe it's one of the relays acting up. I more so wanted to post here to see if there was anything I was overlooking before tearing into the wiring. So if anyone has any ideas, please chime in.

You can also do a bulb swap from the good verified side to the problem side. But they are suppose to turn off when headlights are selected. (both)

So what you're saying is that the left side is actually working as intended, and there's something wrong with my right side not turning off.

In case anyone stumbles upon this thread searching for answers to their problem, I will post my solution. As it turns out, I was given some bad information regarding the DRLs turning off when the headlights come on. The amber marker bulbs have 2 filaments. When either of the DRL settings are selected, both filaments are active. When the headlights are turned on, only one of the filaments is powered. In my case, the filament that was supposed to be powered in the left bulb was the one that was bad. This gave the impression of the bulb only working part of the time.

What settings are you talking about? DRL; DRL and Tails; Headlights (low beam).
You state that in your SR both filaments are ON in the first position?

So the only logical conclusion I could come to was that both filaments are ON in the DRL and DRL/tails positions. And when you go to the headlight position, one of the filaments turns off. It just so happens that that single filament is the one that was bad.

Type B: so, positions 1 & 3 use both filaments, while position 2 uses only 1 filament.

Have you considered checking your blinker fluid levels?

No, the blinker setting works just fine. It was giving me issues when the headlights came on.

This is an amazing thread. My light bulb education is now finally complete. Thank you so much for posting the valuable follow up and so forth and such.
