I don't do beer - so I'm not sure how that works exactly...I just know that the wheeling doesn't stop until after dark. I really wish they would change the cutoff to midnight like at HF. Would be so much better!! 10pm is just toooooo early.

Yeah, they do it because of the people that live around the park.....the sounds of engines revving echo to their houses.....complaints have been an issue for the park.

I'm not about to wheel after dark. Don't have any fancy extra lights. That's just asking for shit to break.
Call me straight edge but I don't drink and drive lol.

I'm sure I'm exaggerating - but not by much.

After dark, the only sober people are the ones not driving.

I usually chicken out on the night driving - esp if I'm too tipsy. Maybe I'll try to take it easy on the vodka this year so I can actually night wheel. I'm all about riding passenger for night wheeling though! Much less stressful that way. lol

You have the same juice I do, make a post on the Facebook page and see if others join in.

The meeting was Thursday and the only thing they talked about was volunteering. They are going to post a schedule with blocks to sign up for. Each 2 hour block will get you $20 of raffle tickets.

Then I am likely quite a bit ahead of you, I've finished all the GIS classes and just have a programming class to finish the associates. I'll have something useable but it won't be as fancy as I'd like.
There is one big raffle, right now it's pushing $60k in parts. For some big ticket items like bumpers or wheels they set out a separate bucket but most things are in one big pot, including some bumpers and lift kits.

For food dinner is likely taken care of, last year Pat Lobb Toyota made hamburgers and hot dogs on Thursday, Louisiana Land Krewesers makes Jambalaya on Friday and they have a local BBQ spot for Saturday. They have only confirmed 2 meals this year which is like Friday and Saturday. They had a food truck last year but it left early. They are working on one for this year that is cool with staying all day.

I usually bring breakfast stuff for each day, stuff to make sandwiches for lunch and some premade stuff I can eat for dinner if needed. I carry 3 coolers though, one for food, one for drinks and a softy for the trails. Ice is available at the front gate, the town with a grocery store and Walmart is about 6 miles out the front gate. As others have said most camps are friendly and not shy about sharing as long as you aren't an asshole.

I think that is because of the all the Motorcycles and ATVs and such as they are so damn loud... but oh well. Just more time to sit by a fire and shoot the shit I guess.

Same here... Same here, night wheeling is a whole nother thing. If I know I am gone to much, I will just ride with someone else for night runs.

Yea, but on the main Jambo page? How can I actually make a post that people can see?

Damn, 20 hour block! Jesus! Lolol you know I am down to Volunteer for stuff! Hopefully that is a typo.

That Jambalaya was damn good last year!!!

Drinking and driving is against the park rules and event rules, FYI.

If you’re going to do it, might not want to brag about it on here.

It is also pretty much impossible to drink and drive unless you want your drink to spill everywhere and go flat from all the sloshing it does.

So... don't drink and drive. Drink at camp, or drink while you watch other people drive, or while you are a passenger.

Shooting the shit around the campfire really is a big part of the fun anyway! I'm hopeful we have perfect weather again this year!! Nice and cool at night (but not too cold) and sunny and comfortably warm during the day!
