You may be in luck. Just read this in the Car & Driver review:

    What’s New for 2018?
The Tacoma interior has the same layout and materials for 2018. The only difference is that the Limited trim is now available with a black leather interior.

400M is almost a quarter mile. 100M is ~330 ft. and closer to commercial/automotive radar's sweet spot. Like @BadFlounder posted, there are 3 settings, just hit the cruiser control toggle to adjust the distance. I believe you can get maybe 80 or so feet, traveling at 60mph thats about a second's gap. I use cruise control a lot too and this is by far one of the most useful things around.

And to those in the fast lane tailgating people so they get the hint of moving out of your way, would you leave cruise control on normally and brake when your kissing the lead vehicle's asshole? i mean tail pipe

I can't remember exactly what the settings ranges were since we traded it in but it was more like 7 - 10 car lengths on the shortest distance.

I can’t believe they added a 7.0 L turbo diesel option to the 2018 tacomas... I knew I should have waited

    5-speed discountinued?... That's a shame.

It's only a matter of time until the six-speed is gone too.

I'm a bit confused. So can AC TRD's get the power rear window now? And what about leather?

Power Rear for A CAB is unclear at this point. The way the build sheet reads it could just be D CAB, or possibly all SR5 and above.

EDIT: Leather on ACAB also unclear, sorry that was an assumption on my part. Trying to get my hands on latest build sheets.

From what I have read, there isn't room behind the access cab jump seats to accommodate the power slider mechanism.

But who knows, in general there does seem to be less Toyota love for us access cab drivers, lol.

You are correct. District rep told my dealer first few pros would be Calvary blue in our region, so my black one ordered would take a little longer to get. Don't like the blue so I'll just wait a bit longer.

SOutheast toyota dealer is refusing to give me any info on the 2018 pro models. Im currently in the market and for a TRD Pro and the dealer is trying to push the 2017 model.
    What to do?

    Change dealers?

Frankly not only would I change dealers, I would let first salesman know after order is placed that you are buying from XYZ Dealer down the road. but that is just me.

LOL, True, what a hassle this whole process has been. Crazy when you are ready to purchase it is such a hassle.

There's 2 problems with the dynamic cruise control system Toyota uses, other manufacturers may not have these issues.
One, it doesn't coast to adjust your speed, it uses the brakes so it's very noticeable when it functions. It's highly annoying.
Two, if you pull up behind a prius at the closest setting, it's not too bad, but if you pull up behind a semi trailer on the same closest setting, the distance is much greater. It comes across as very half baked in person and as someone who really wanted to have this feature it's highly disappointing and frustrating. Maybe other manufacturers have a better system.
