The original is not $30. I have one of from a dealership and it's worth 2k. RCR introduced several remakes. They only made 3k and it was based on the number of MC sold for the allotment received. Paired with the 1 of 5k 1/64 sold only at the track by RCR it is much more valuable, I have both.

Oh he shows back up after the ass beating the #9 provided the field and the following weeks bitch fit from the 18. Good luck this week, the 18 never dances well with the lady in black.

Edit: sorry this was a dick comment, I was pissed at the wife last night and being an ass hole.

It's not a '95 run. Those look pretty crappy, honestly. This is a second run from the early aughts, but it's the early MC body and the '95 scheme. I've seen price guides with all sorts of wild values but I know that stuff is only worth what people will pay. I don't know anyone paying big money for diecast. It's a money pit. I won't pay more than $35 unless it's something I've wanted for a long time. I'm tempted to get these, but they're the same cost as a race ticket:

you are 100% correct. I was lucky enough to get the originals at the event for the 1/64 and from a parts guy I knew o the 1/24. I have all of the original all star race schemes from Dale Sr. There is no money in collecting these things. Just garage art and for me reminds me of the race the car was in. I was a little drunk and being an ass hole. My apologies.

Damn, 78 closing up shop after this season. Pretty bad when the current champion with 4 wins is not able to secure sponsors.

They had sponsors, Visser didn't see the JGR price as fair and rather than buy into crap equipment he'd rather be done with it all

They have no major sponsor for 16 races with 5 hour leaving and that is why he can't afford the JGR equipment for 2019.

The hot reactionary take is that "NASCAR IS DYING BLA BLA BLA, NOT EVEN THE DEFENDING CHAMP CAN AFFORD TO RACE."

There are multiple ingredients to the situation:

    1) Barney Visser ain't getting any younger. He nearly died last year. Meanwhile, another crew member did die. Then there's the specter of potential death always following Sherry Pollex around. Barney built the team up from nothing with his own money into a championship caliber team that competes for wins week in and week out. He did the thing. He climbed the mountain. He can go out on top, unlike Junie Dunlavy, Bud Moore, Junior Johnson, Cale Yarborough, and many, many more storied car owners.

    2) Hell yes, it's expensive to be competitive in NASCAR, and it ain't getting any cheaper. Is NASCAR dying? No. It's just evolving.

    3) Gibbs got tired of getting beat by their farm team and most likely raised the contract rate up so high that there's no way FRR could pay. Gibbs probably gave FRR racing an offer they could only refuse.

Looking at their options, they'd need a new manufacturer lined up (in short order), a new engine supplier, and a new sponsor to replace Five-Hour Energy in a rebuilding year. Martin probably had all kinds of clauses in his contract that stipulates full sponsorship for 36 races + non-points races or something. Martin has to stick to the letter of his personal contract or any of his associates could say he faulted on his contract.

Not even the 7-time champ has a sponsor for next year. I welcome a return to teams scrapping by week after week to get their car running and competing. Last time NASCAR had a slump, it created a generation of future Heroes of the sport: David Pearson, Junior Johnson, Curtis Turner, Bobby Isaac, Cale Yarborough, A.J. Foyt, etc. etc.

Well I just saw this, which reinforces my thinking. Gibbs wanted nearly DOUBLE for the new contract, and Truex's contract was up too. Toyota is not going to let Ford or Chevy get Truex and Pearn, and the only place for them to go in the TRD camp is Gibbs; a team I've despised longer than any other seedy team.

Maybe so, but he didn't exactly state 1 finitie reason... Seems to be a combination of the 2. (Sponsor and contract)

Agreed, I was struggling to get into that one.
