Something like 43 or 44 days until the 500. I'm taking a van load of teenagers to the Saturday Atlanta races next month. I might do Daytona in July, depending on our vacation plans. Trying to put together a Florida trek for the fam. A group of us are looking ahead to Darlington as well. Besides that, I'll probably continue hitting the small bull rings. Hopefully make it to Bowman Gray, Hickory or Greenville Pickens for a Late Model or K&N race. Slim chance we'll be pulling a camper to Speedfest in Cordele at the end of the month.

EDIT: scratch that K&N off the list. They're not even coming to the Carolinas this season. I'll look at CARS and PASS series...

Looks like ‘18 is Kurt Busch’s final year and Cole Custer will replace him next season.

That leads me to believe that JGR is getting rid of talented drivers. We all know what happened with Matt and Carl's situation. WTF is going on over there?

$$$$ younger drivers cost far less in service contracts than drivers whose careers peaked during the boom.

It’s all money and connections. Owners are circling the wagons these days to protect their coffers. It’s no longer about racing and more about business models. Cole’s dad is Joe Custer. Whoever signs Cole gets an important ally in the garage.

I get that to some degree but KB wins a shit ton of races, which pay all of their salaries and bring good sponsorship dollars to an organization that used to appreciate their drivers. Denny has been there longer than anyone and KB has more wins, it just doesn't compute. They'd be fools to give up KB. That's all I'm saying. I'm not a huge fan either way but the math doesn't really work.
