2018 Non-Greasable U-Joints

Finally got the Tacoma in the garage and up on some stands to check fluid levels, bolt torque and grease u joints and to my surprise the rear 3 u joints are non greasable. The 2 for front driveshaft were bone dry so lubed them up nice but are no zerk fittings on the rear 3 like my 2015 had!

 

I have heard that. Not sure what Toyota was thinking. My '17 has them...

 

This has been known for some time now. 17' OR same situation

 

My 17 does not have them on the rear driveshaft either.

 

They stopped installing them in the summer of 2017, apparently....

Too many new buyers were complaining of NO grease in the joints, so Toyota's answer was ...."remove the damn things and give them nothing to complain about"..

Miscommunication between the head guys and the factory...... the factory thought they meant the rear 3 only.... so you still get the front 2, until enough of you guys complain that they are dry....then they will be gone too..!!.........
