It looks like some of the roads are impassable. Also in the forest order for the seasonally closed roads got extended from March 31st to April 15th. Those roads supposedly are marked. FYI

Is ham the go to for communication these days? I was eyeing one of these setups , which is a FRS/GMRS combo, but I want to be able to communicate on the same bands everyone else is on. In my last rig I had a CB but the quality was always pretty bad.

I dunno, i have hand held cb and ham needs a lisc to operate (legally)

I was hoping for simple communications like go left at the big tree or we went right after creek crossing.

The license is super easy to get. You’ll be glad you have it. It much better than CB.

A $35 hand held is really all you need. I’ve gotten 3 miles of range in downtown LA with one.

I have a baotech 50 watt dual band in my over head console. I was able to ping a repeater from 35 miles away with hills in between in Baja last year. You can’t get that range with CB.

I hate school and tests. Was just hoping old skool trail comms. I dont need range, just trail time chit chat. Does cb’s talk to ham? I know they have decimal points after channels right?
