@siznarf you still interested in checking out the Rubicon taco takeover? Getting close and need to decide if I'm going to commit to going.

dont know never been. Just heard that if your not registered they turn you away. if you know someone involed with it you should ask. if your hiking it to take pics i doubt they will turn you away. I really want to do one of these runs but the cost is crazy.

    It’s a public road.

Probably just camping at the springs and logistics are closed. My brother has crashed the marlin roundup before and just paid when he got there but I don’t think they encourage it.

Bring your own gear and you’re golden.

    I have never heard that.

Maybe for the Jeep jamboree but I wouldn’t go that time anyway. It’d be a cluster.

Its a county road so I guess that could be the case. Just need a permit.

Otherwise I know I’ve wheeled the same weekend as other Marlin events and not been a part of them.

Ugh, maybe I don't even want to bother at this point. Sounds more like a clusterfuck that I don't want to get into.

I've been to both Rubithon and MCR, both events are fun but the trail is almost like bumper to bumper traffic in some areas. It's still a fun event despite that. It's definitely something I'd recommend experiencing once. If you want to run the Rubicon, it's best to run it the weekend before or after a big event/holiday. That's when most people are home preping or fixing their rigs. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone on the trail.
