I did not. Really didn't get a chance. The little cap screw that holds the reel handle on decided to come off somewhere between my garage and the camp site. Didn't want to deal with trying to reel without it.

Know any good wheeling spot? I want to try some new place this time, but worst case scenario I am always down for Hollister.

 

Does anyone know how hard is Sourgrass trail? I don't want to go alone, but one of friends has a Humvee and he is willing to go, but not sure if that thing can go up there? Is it do able in a day?

 

for your truck, easy. Theres only 3 sections that are harder than a fire road, 2 of those spots are a small water crossing (small based on the pics @CrashN'Burn posted a few weeks ago) and ditch with some rocks. Your truck would be fine. Not sure about a humvee, as long as he doesnt mind pinstripes, should be ok I think.

What day would you be going? If sunday, i might be able to make a day trip.

Its a paid campground that gets not much attention on here. I love that spot though and had to camp at Rollins this memorial weekend cause of the closer. I would suggest avoiding that lake this yr. as the rest of the campgrounds will feel the extra impact of sunset being closed. That info is on the eldorado pg. already posted. its not the only campground getting renovated on Union Valley Res.

 

Spent alot of time at UVR. Stayed up there for 21 days once (Camino Cove, so it was free). Great place if you gotta boat, or are trying to get a ticket lol.

Oddly enough, theres a valley to the west of the lake i camp at sometimes. Only when im going up for a firearm specific trip.

Only because of the sightline and tree cover. Really need to explore the NV desert for some longer range shit, but i like to stay in the forest. Just makes getting some range kinda a pain.

 

Just found a baseball cap that's got "Closure isn't Management" meant to look like a Forest Service sign.
