It is but it’s nice to have few rigs with winches spread out through a group to pull forward or backwards

I agree and I don't want to be the one slowing people down either and keep rescuing me. As much as I would love to go on this little expedition, I think I will wait till I have winch.

I have the front metal bumper on order and then getting a winch. Already got full skids including rear diff and sliders. So, hopefully there will be another trip later this summer to Rubicon. I will be taking my limo for sure!

What is the minimum needed for the Rubicon?

The more ground clearance the better. I have seen stock Rubicon jeep go through it, but they struggle. Some protection from rocks (sliders and skids) will save you lot of expensive repairs. Lockers (at least rear) come in handy.

    Experience...

IFS equipped vehicles should have full armor unless you DGAF about body damage.

33’s are probably the smallest you could get away with in regards to clearance.

A winch is almost necessary, unless you are with others that are winch equipped and strategically placed around you.

A rear locker is most definitely helpful.

Experience. Knowing your approach angles, tipover angles and highcenter points.

I feel like im lacking the clearance. 32's dont look to be enough. As far as everything else, I have a front bumper/winch, sliders, skids, rear locker and a rear bumper on the way.

My current situation. I plan on 35’s after a re-gear. I plan to re-gear after I find me a little 5 lugger. I’ll find me a 5 lugged after I get the Drifter on and set. Priorities...

I got 35's, but need to re-gear. Hopefully I will have it re-geared by the end of this year. :fingerscrossed:

I need a daily before rubicon lol but if its on a few weekdays ill ride shotgun and man the cooler while thoroughly trying to convince someone to send it!

I'm curious though with a 1st gen, 5sp, stock v6 would it be recommended 4.88 or 5.29 if 35s were thrown on? And would you do new cv and rear axles? And besides removing the fenders, cutting the fenders and fender wells, welding new plates in what else is involved? Maybe in 2 Or 3 years when my new 33s are done I'll look into it. If they last that long....i keep taking chunks out of them

Not enough to have a build thread.
Personally, I wouldn't go with 529s unless you're going SAS and 37s or larger. 529s will put a lot of stress on your halfshafts. Someone (I dont remember who) was saying 488s were awesome. I'm debating on 488s or 456s

I will be going with 4.88s when I do it.

If at that point you are still going to daily drive your truck, I will do 4.56. But, from all the research that I have done, for 3rd gen with 35's 4.88 is the way to go since I don't daily drive my truck. Since, I did one inch body lift and only did 1.5'' suspension lift, my axels still look decent, but only time will tell.

EDIT: All the stuff you mentioned is all I had to do to fit 35's and hammer the pinch weld.
